Okay so I've searched the forum and talked to a few folks about a 997.2 upgrade. Well I'm still not clear on whether the multifunction feature is compatible. Ryem3 you mentioned a module for the multifunction portion of the steering wheel however I do not see this listed anywhere. Suncoast has the switch kit for sale which has 3 wires, 1 for the horn and two for airbag. Is there not a connection specifically for the buttons? From what I see the bus for the airbag also manages the data that enables the multifunction buttons, hence the "dealer reactiviation" note on Suncoast's site. So I'm stuck for now until I figure this out, as my dealer could not answer my questions.

Has anyone mounted a 997.2 TTS PDK wheel in a 997.1TT 6 speed?

I'm in agreement the triangle wheel is embarrassingly ugly and the aluminum look of the TTS wheel is the only one I want!

Did you try to call them? I think a good guy there is Ryan. I believe the .2 wheel has been used on a .1 and Suncoast has sold a conversion. The buttons may be another story, but he should have an answer. Also, try searching the 997 forum instead of the turbo forum, I believe there was a conversion thread someone started there. Good luck!

I sent a detailed email to Ryan with a link to this thread. Hopefully he will have good news for me soon. I've searched the forum and the web however to my knowledge no on has done the conversion on a multifuction wheel. I did see an upgrade from a 997.1 tip to 997.2 pdk wheel so I'm hoping my idea will work. Thanks.

The wheel in question is not specific to the TTS. It is the Sport design wheel which is available for manual cars @ Suncoast. Seeing that folks have mounted the std 997.2 steering wheel on a 997.1 you should have no problem but as read on other threads, you'll need the wheel, new airbag and horn ring(module required to make your horn function), dealer activiation or programming.

That new wheel is really cool, worth it even without the buttons! I see the regular wheel is $1k, yet the Alcantara version is $1500! NOt worth it when you can get one custom stitched and wrapped for $350.

I agree it looks great and I think I'll go with the wheel even if I can't get the buttons to work.

If you are referring to the Sport Design wheel than your worries are over as it does not come with MF buttons. You just install the wheel and airbag and horn will be functional.
997-1 cars without MF wheels have to be reprogrammed as if they have a MF wheel, otherwise the horn does not work. I learned that from the Cayman forum.

No I'm conerned about the multifunction compatibility between my current 997.1 wheel and the 997.2 multifuction.

So I stopped by Macarbon this week and looked at a few wheels ready to head to happy customers. All I can say is I'm impressed with the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. I've attached the wheel I plan on replicating, except the stiching will be in white and the 12 oclock ring will be in white in 10mm instead of 3mm.

As soon as I figure out my issue it's on order!!!!!! Calling all P-car experts please help

Okay so I finally got a chance to try out a few wheels. My dealer worked with me and did me favor. We tried two wheels. 997.2 multifunction and 991 multifuction. Both wheels connected, no airbag faults the multifunction buttons illuminated however the multifunction buttons did not work.

So I've read that to make this work you'll need a new steering wheel controller and clock spring mechanism, see thread.
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-function.html

So for now I'm still on hold for now. I need to determine what is in fact required with part numbers. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
