So, this seems to work. Going from the triangle MF wheel to the 997.2 GTS style metal 3 spoke wheel.
There are a lot of paddle shift wheels on the market. Can the paddles be removed and then the wheel used on a manual car? Are there big holes in the sides if you remove the paddles? Would seem silly to install a wheel with the paddles on a manual car.

Doesn't matter if turbo or non-turbo - both the same.

Eurotom, so in the end what parts were definitely needed to do the MF 997.1 to MF 997.2 (and off course have everything working including the buttons)? And thank you for all the great information that you've provided in this thread.

I'm yet to place the order, but according to Suncoast, it's controle module, airbag, wheel, and multifunction control/faceplate. Suncoast
will not provide Porsche PN's so I do not have that data.

Okay placed my order today should have all of the HW in the next 12 days, keep you guys posted on install progress and pictures.

FYI anyone interested in a OEM carbon multifunction steering wheel let me know.

Also I will have a 997.2 steering wheel faceplate in grey for sale, brand new.

Hope you don't mind me asking but I'm also looking to swap my .1 to .2 and am in the process of sourcing parts. I had a quick question. Looking on eBay, there are a ton of sellers saying that the .2 steering wheels are the same on the newer cayenne a and panameras. Can anyone confirm or deny that the steering wheels from the .2 997s, cayennes and pannys are all the same and would fit on my .1? Thanks!

Edwin

I would venture to say yes. I did a test fit with a wheel off a 991 and as metnioned in this thread it was compatible with the exception of MF functionality.

Also I may have missed some questions, see my thread below with PN's listed.

Edwin , why did you remove/delete all the pictures in your 'follow my build'.
The link is in your signature and looks rather amateur like without any pictures.
Are your bumpers made of PU ?

I inadvertently moved my pics to another album and it killed all the links. I'll redo them when I find the time (hopefully this week ). To answer your question, all the parts we make are fiberglass.
