Clutch switch noise

Hey all, had my car serviced yesterday (std oil etc) and noticed a noise coming from the clutch pedal. I'm sure it was there before as it's unrelated to the work done on the car but I guess I was "looking" for noise.

After investigation the root cause is in the switch assembly shown in the pic. The plastic creaking type of noise happens when you slightly depress the pedal or slowly release the pedal. I held back the switch and noise is gone.

Dealer is investigating but has anyone ran into this issue, is it just loose or potentially defective?

Thanks

My 09 had a clutch switch recall...

They replaced the clutch switch one day I was in for service.

Maybe they did the same to yours, and forgot to tell you.

For some reason, all my clutch switches make/made noise. Really annoying, but I thought it was normal!! Those types of noise really bug me. ARGH.

had a similar sound when the car was new, I put a tiny amount of silicon grease on and problem solved. Fast forward almost 4 years later and still going fine.

Well my first thought was the dealer did something but they confirmed nothing was replaced.

Maybe try gmoneys suggestion, and I hate the very faint noises more than something serious as it's diffiucult to troubleshoot.

Good one, I actually considered it but just gave the dealer a call, they ordrered a new switch w/o even hearing the problem. Good to know for when the noise comes back. You didn't remove the swtich when you applied the grease right?

Did not remove, and I used a couple specs w/ toothpick, to avoid any odor spreading in the cabin. I did not spray it obviously. Instantly stopped the clicking and creaking.

Nice I was actually thinking about odor issues with grease but I like your idea.

I'll have to do this when I get home. Mine does this as well and it's annoying as hell, especially with the radio off. Or when someone wants to sit in the car and engages the clutch....
