Help!! Softronic turn the engine light on
Hey guys,
I just tune my car and right after i did it i drove my car 5 miles and the engine light turn on.... maybe is because i have BADspeed 2 version exhaust in my car? i need help please.
The installation of the tune file was done with 0 problems... i finished and i did it step by step how they tell you to do it... the car feels faster and a lot more torque but i'm worry about the engine light.

I doubt its the tune. You have a bmc oil filter and a baba exhaust. Could be either of these parts. Do you have the 02 extensions in the cats? Check with durametric or get Porsche to check with piwis to identify problem area first.

dont get stressed and do anything in a hurry.
you could always revert to the stock tune, right?
the BMC filter isnt that kinda infamous for two thing, 1-no power gains at all and 2-oil from the filter destroys your maf sensors ?
first of all , just try to see whats the code is that made the "check engine light apeared '' ??
i think maybe its misfire issues , just try to besure from that ..
when the last time you replace the spark plugs ???

if the plugs are old (15K+ miles) could be a misfire due to tune, if so you'll need new cooler plugs
otherwise the softronic tune is pretty much ubiquitous on these forums so likely not the tune save for the plugs per the above
likely the exhaust and/or filter.

Hey Leo, just for reference I had that exhaust on my car for 2 years before I had a tune and it never threw a CEL. When I installed my BMC filter before, I got about 10 miles later. Think the code was related to gas evap, I reset the code and it never came back.
My guess would also be a missfire issue with the extra boost from the tune. My car had stock plugs (40k miles) in it and the missfire after the tune was so violent the car fell on its face at 4k RPM and would not accelerate.
1st step as everyone said, get the code that has been thrown and go from there.

Use your softronic cable with the durametric software and run the codes. You mentioned in another thread (maybe on rennlist) that you did this before. See if the same codes appeared. I agree with others though...either plugs or exhaust. I just installed this tune and have had zero issues so far when it comes to CELs (but I also changed the plugs when I add the exhaust (EP2))
Last Sunday I sent another email to Dan (vividracing) to see if he could help me with this problem but i hear he is out of town... I'm going to call softronic tomorrow and see if they can help me.

When you open the diagnostic tool On the left side of the screen you will see several drop down menus. Look for the one that says "engine" and under that you will see several options, one of which should list current status including errors
