No Boost - Hissing

Guys,

Today under hard acceleration I brought her (2007 turbo, bone stock, 15K miles) to the rev limiter and it seems like a hose or some sort of connection broke or sprung a leak that resulted in no boost and a hissing sound when stepping on the gas. Any ideas of what may have happened?

Thank you

Have you done any work on the car lately? Sounds like your boost pipe popped loose. If they are removed you really have to snap them hard to get them locked in place....otherwise when you get boost they will pop off and make a loud hissing sound...will likely see some light smoke haze hear the engine compartment also...That is my first thought anyway...others may have different ideas...

Good luck!

I am not sure as I am new to porsche and my first turbo but I believe you can see if your boost gauge on the center dash cluster is showing any bars? I know tht when boost kicks in my bar reader steadly climbs. This could be an indicator if yours doesn't.

Sounds like boost hose came off. You can check two connections under the car, but will have to take the rear bumper off to check the others. It's a pretty easy fix.

You could loosen the upper hoses from the intake piping to see if it came loose from the intercooler. Checking the lower hoses is the easiest place to start. I had a upper pop off after I installed my exhaust. What a PITA of a fix after getting it all put back together.

Good luck

Check the black rubber coupler that joins the silver Y Pipe to the throttle body. They come off all the time. It is easy to fix yourself. It is held on by a couple of hose clamps.
