Softronic tune, now adding Fabspeed Exhaust...Will Software adjust?

As the title indicates I have had a 93 Octane Softronic tune on my car, new Iridium (cooler) plugs etc., and running fine. I finally got around to purchasing a Fabspeed Maxflow Exhaust (Catback - 200 Cell Cats)....Took me a bit to get around to it since I am poor ....Anyway, assuming, and hoping that it will run OK with the Softronic as is?....Just checking opinions on that.
Was hoping it would adjust to the diff. back-pressure etc., or at least run OK...

Thanks in advance for any input....And please do not turn this in to a tune or exhaust preference thread...To each his own.

Excellent! Thanks for the info on that. Now I am excited to get it installed. I went ahead and bought the $50 ea. O2 extenders as well so hopefully no CEL.

Just have to figure if they go on the side near the Turbo, or the muffler side??

Thanks again.

I believe with Softronic you won't have any exhaust-related CELs. I don't with my aftermarket headers and 200 cell cats. All your readiness indicators will be fine too for inspection time.

The bung extensions go on the secondary position, after the cat. Don't let anybody talk you into extending all four, not necessary.

Thank you! Yes I only got two of them. I assumed after, which I am thinking are the holes closest to the muffler (rear of car).

Excellent catch (and save) Chris. For OP: there are 2 sensors: pre cat and post cat, and they serve entirely different functions. The post cat sensor (what Chris called the secondary) is where you put the bung extension if necessary, for example if there is problem with catalytic converter's inefficiency.

The pre cat sensor is there to collect information about oxygen level and send this information back to the ECU, so ECU could adjust for proper Air Fuel Ratio level. You don't want to put bung extension there because it would screw up this feedback info. Although I don't know what happens if you do make this error, I could imagine erroneous AFR based on erroneous feedback could potentially cause damage.

The ecu leans out the mixture excessively. Can fry a piston.

Thanks for all the helpful info and tips guys! When I get back home from New Orleans I am going to try the install! Sprayed penetrating oil on the cat bolts/nuts before I left so hopefully will come off OK.....

I also have Fabspeed V3 exhaust with Softronic tune. Car runs and sounds great over 3k rpm and turbo makes amazing sound at full boost! The installation is pretty straightforward and just time consuming. Make sure put LOTS of penetrating oil about 2 days before the install and keep them wet. I applied about 5~6 times and I didn't break any studs. Piece of cake! Well, have fun and good luck.

Yes, you want to spray those studs for at least two days in a row. Take your time, you'll be fine.

OK Guys....Quick update.

Thanks again for the input. I soaked the bolts and they came off relatively easy for the cat. Also got a 22mm open end and the O2's came off pretty easily. Got it all lined up and tightened it all down and put it all back together.

Noticed the tailpipes are a little further out to the edges (outer) of the openings, by maybe 1/2 inch..Looks fine...Just a note. I think it sounds great. Much louder! Hear the turbos better, and I did not install the O2 extensions as the guy I bought them from did not send the washers!

So as some of you indicated...I went without the bungs and no CEL yet?? Fingers crossed....Took it out and ran it relatively fast a number of times and no lights....So maybe the Lambda settings on Softronic do the trick?

Anyway, thanks for the tips. All put back together and running fine....So FAR..

Note, many say you do not need to remove the bumper...That may be, but if not they are my hero! I took that bad boy apart and it was still hard to get to some parts...Maybe more talented and/or better tools?
