Hi Everyone,

Joined today as I thought this may be a useful reference for the Kline Exhaust.

Had mine on a 997.1 Turbo for 4 months now. Very pleased with the sound, not intrusive below 2500 revs, there is a very slight drone (to me) between 2600-2800, but is easily avoidable by use of suitable gear/speed if cruising.

Above 3000 it howls beautifully like a Flat 6 should, I have quite a few TVR owner friends and they love it.
All in all I must rate it as very good value.

Link to a video of going up Prescott Hill in Gloucestershire UK on Fun Run day.

Thank you, that's very kind.

I'm sure you will be happy with it. Forgot to mention, on start up from cold it pops and crackles for 30 seconds or so.

Check out SharkWerks, it is relatively cheap, easy to install and has a great sound.

No, you and a few other people on this thread have question the cost of the Kline and compared it to the Europipe, I was just adding another muffler that I own that is a great price, $1500 and sounds fantastic.

Ok cool I thought I'd try to go a different route than Europipe, I know it's a great exhaust but wanted a different sound. Thanks never heard the exhaust you reference and don't know of an exhaust they sell for $1500 if they do it's not listed.

I looked at many but the 5k price tag seemed high for just a couple of pipes welded together. Listened to a bunch live and on the internet and found I liked the Sharkwerks the best and the price was great at $1500. Then I found one on Ebay from Reeves Porsche in Florida for 1k and I pulled the trigger and could not be happier.

Not to be critical of your choice of exhaust at all, just want to point out that Sharkwerks vs. Kline (or other after-market exhausts) might be apple to orange comparison.

If I read the web site correctly, Sharkwerks uses original factory catalyst, which IIRC is 600 cpsi and therefore is a major source of flow obstruction. I don't know what Kline uses, but most after-market exhausts use 200 cpsi catalyst to reduce flow obstruction. In other words:
Sharkwerks's appears to simply remove the stock muffler with simple pipes for sound and some better flow - that's why it costs so little.
Other AM exhausts modify the stock muffler for sound and some better flow, AND replace the catalyst for better flow. A lot more work.

If you plan to improve sound, then either exhausts might work out, but if you would like to have a very free flowing exhausts, or to later mod the ECU, I think 200 cpsi is the way to go.

I just had the Kline Innovation Exhaust installed on my 997.1 a little over a week ago. Unfortunately the weather has been lousy here in NJ for the last few weeks, so I haven't had a chance to really drive the car, except for the ride home from my local installer. My installer did say that the welds on the exhaust were absolutely beautiful. And I can tell you that my initial impressions are very good. The car now has a nice rumble, better sound on start up, and is totally transformed over 4k rpms.

Props to Sam Ahdoot from By Design Auto for great communication, quick shipping and a very fair deal on the exhaust. If you are thinking about this exhaust, definitely give Sam a call to discuss.

Props also to PowerTech in Rockaway, NJ, for a very clean install and good communication.

I decided to install the IPD intake plenum as well, but again, haven't had a chance to really push the car to get a good impression, but I will be sure to update this thread with more thoughts on the exhaust and plenum in the coming months, as the weather improves.

Drone

That does it for me.

Europipe all the way, I'm not going to put up w any drone.

I've never heard anyone mention drone at any rpm from an EP.

Bill, not sure where you are in MI. I took a roll of the dice on a Kline, and will be installing it once we get a little closer to spring. I went with 100cell cats. We'll see. I believe it will be quieter than the GMG, but remains to be seen...
