Hi All,

I am currently having a EVOMS EVT580 kit install on my car. This includes 1 stage cooler plug, new recirculation valves, and ECU upgrade. Car already has a Europipe stage 2 exhaust and BMC air filter.

Brought the car to them due to a misfire when not in sport mode. "Car ran fine in sport mode."

Car has been with them since last Monday, soon I will see the results.

 

Nice! Did Emery do the work on it for you? If you get it back this week you should come out to the CECA event this Saturday to stretch it's legs... We're looking for some more Porsches to come out..

 

Would love too. Not sure that the car would be ready though. Maybe I may hear different this week though. Emory did the oil change though. That is what the techs notes said at least.

Where is this event taking place? Do you have a turbo that underwent this surgery? Just kidding on the surgery point but, I haven't had me car for over a week and its killing me.

Maybe I should take the Cayenne S, LOL.

 

BTW you would kick my butt. even with the upgrade!

Its the Colorado Exotic Car Association track event at High Plains Raceway (HPR). Its a fun event, very laid back with plenty of 1st times. It's all split up into groups ranging from novice to expert. It's a great way to stretch the legs on your car in a controlled environment, drive with an instructor, learn a thing or two and just plain have some fun. It's normally only about 30-40 cars. Really a great time. $160 for a full day. They are looking for a few Porsches to come out. PM me and I can email you the information to the event along with my contact info if you'd like.

Emery and the crew at 303 know my car pretty well. Lol! He did a bunch of work on it last year. They didn't do any performance mods, just preventative stuff like coolant pipes, gearbox cooler, synchros, valve lifters, etc. They had a track day at HPR last Friday so I chatted with him there.

Happy to hear your car is in capable hands and you're getting to the bottom of the problems. Wish I could come out and play this weekend but there's snow in the forecast over the high passes so unless I catch a break early in October, my track season looks to be over. If Emery is working on the car then he's in good hands. We missed you out there this past weekend Dean. First weekend it wasn't brutally hot. Saturday night was pretty nuts as they had 2000+ people show up for the drag race event they ran on the long straight. Have a safe winter and I look forward to seeing you in the spring.

Thanks guys. I am sure that Steamboat would win against most of us little guys though. Maybe the early snow is a blessing on this weekend.

 

Steamboat's car is mighty quick and he's a damn good driver....

 

Quick update: Car runs like a dream with sport mode off and on. I now think that the clutch is slipping though. Car revs higher then car movement; almost like I have the clutch in half way.

Your clutch is slipping. Pretty common after a tune with the increased torque.

 

Sounds like a clutch. I'm surprised they didn't offer to do the clutch while your car was in. To be honest, you shouldn't have gotten the EVT580 package. My car had it when I bought it. It starts you down a long road of ever-increasing power. I now have a built EVT700 and am already thinking about the next step... Good luck with the mod-bug!
