VTG compatible with Tial External Wastegate?

Hello, I was wondering has anybody used EWGs for upgraded VTG turbochargers/block off the IWG? Better boost control and that wicked sound

Yes, I do. Todd @ proto set me up with essentially a full alpha kit on his 67mm vtgs. External WG, better boost control, the whole shebang.

Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the setup, once it is all installed you can not really tell there's anything there. My car looks stock from the outside. Until you hear the wastegates venting..

I think you are mistaken
VTG, VGT, VNT does not use a waste gate to regulate boost.

WG's can be used...just keep vanes fully "closed" and control boost by WGs. But I don't know why this is done. Maybe someone wants to use external EBC? Although it might take some time to find proper settings with tuned turbos, but still. IMO the whole idea of VTGs is lost that way.
Then some also use external dump valves instead of integrated CVs...

Checking back I believe I misspoke. I'm still using stock boost control methods, but we are using tial WGs to vent to atmosphere. Running MAFless so speed density tuning.
