bad day...waiting for a towing

Was just driving down the street and all of a sudden I heard a noise from the back k like a flat tire. I drove a bit to get off the road and looked all around the right rear of the car. No flat everything looks OK.
It sounds just like a flat but a lot louder and does not go away in neutral or anything. Any ideas?
2007 the o manual transmission
Thx

Maybe a wheel bearing failed? However, one would think it would have gotten louder over time. Running with clutch in or out make any difference?

no difference with clutch in or out. It does get louder as I go faster.
Anyways I pulled it over, and had it towed on a flatbed.
It's at the dealers now.
I was hoping for a few more days of driving before the storage...if it's anything like usual, it will be in the shop 1-2 weeks.

Sounds like a draft shaft failure. Good luck and hope it's not too bad of a repair

Just got home...
And the winner is HJacobs2000.
It was the lug nuts!
I had the wheels replaced back to stock 3 weeks ago and they put the lug nuts on. They said it was the aftermarket lugs I used. If they thought this was an issue they should have told me when they put them on.
Anyhow, alls well now and just cost me a set of new lugs.
I wish the car came with a jack...I would have lifted that wheel to see what was going on.

Every couple weeks I go out to the garage and torque the lugs on our three cars. At the very least it's a beer in the garage with some piece and quite.

I am very jealous. I too, relish any chance to spend a few minutes in the garage with a beer, but for me it's a beer and some peace. I'd be out there a lot more often if I could get a piece, too!

Just interested to know....did you double check the torque on the lug bolts after your guys replaced the wheels? Plenty of room for them to not finish up the job w a final torquing.
