Picture (Canon 1D, 35L 1.4): This picture shows the soft leather in middle, and then the infamous perforated leather where your hands grip. The leather quality and suturing are impeccable, like stock. The perforated leather increases grip and looks beautiful! Similar to the design of the gorgeous Ferrari steering wheel.

From these pictures you could see that the steering wheel is thicker not side to side, but front to back. The thickened part is MUCH thicker than my XPA Thick Sports Steering Wheel OEM option, and also thicker than 997.2, or 991. It feels so very good - more "muscular" for lack of a better word, firmer, more sporty. An entirely better sensation than stock. Steering wheel is no longer shinny and slippery like my 7 years old XPA wheel, feels like having a new car :-).

Have not been on this forum for a long time - just want to share what makes me happy , so bumping this thread and re-recommending the Techart steering wheel.

This is one of the best mods I have EVER done for my now old Turbo. First, it makes the car feels NEW again. No kidding - somehow a new steering wheel changes the age perception of the car so much. For me anyway LOL.

Second it is flat out a very "sporty" steering wheel, the thickness allowing better feel of the road even, IMHO. Recommended without reservation. It's way up there next to my Cargraphic exhaust and HRE wheel mods.

Update and bump: Still one of the very very best mods I've done to the car (below Bilstein, but tied with ECU mod, and above Cargraphic exhaust LOL). As mentioned previously, two things: one, it makes the car feel new, probably because the leather of my original steering wheel had become shinny and slippery, and two, the bumps at 3 and 9 o'clock lovely to hold. I had the Porsche Sport Wheel option (or whatever they call it), and it's still too thin for my taste versus the Techart.

Not the cheapest, but a great X'mas gift for yourself. Recommended without reservation.

Can - I can’t believe you still own that car! I can hardly remember how many cars I’ve owned since my turbo!
