Werks1 Chin Splitter Chips

At around 12,000 miles I put on a brand new Werks1 CF chin splitter. I've gone about 5,000 miles since then and the splitter has way more rock chips than I imagined it would at this point. Can anyone else with this part (or a similar part) chime in and let me know if this is par for the course?

It's the clear coat that's getting chipped. Anyone have any tips or tricks to touch this kind of stuff up?

Thanks,
Cam

Hi Cam... judging by the number of little chips in the paint on your bumper, I'd say the roads out there are pretty rough! ouch!

That being said...the Werks1 splitter is clearcoated, so if it ever gets to the point where you want it perfect again, you could just take it off the car have a qualified body shop re-clear it. That should bring it back to new.

I can't argue with that. Utah is fairly brutal. Lots of pebbles, debris and salt from the winter.

Okay, good to know. The "qualified" part might be tricky...

Thanks Tom!

Yeah, it's probably a good idea out here.

In the meantime I guess I'll just let the roads have their way with it.
