Question No auto-close sunroof?

In my '08, one touch of the forward part of the sunroof button made the sunroof close automatically. In my '11, one touch doesn't close the roof. One touch opening yes, but not closing.

In the back of my mind I recall that for a couple of years the consumer protection geniuses thought an automatically closing sunroof was dangerous and the feature was eliminated. Somehow the world came back to their senses and auto close roofs are back. Is '11 a year when they were eliminated? Does the roof not close automatically on other '11 cars that people have?

I don't know whats with Porsche and this auto close issue!

I hate the passenger window for example! Why is it that I can't auto close the window, and when I do the manual closing by holding the button, it reaches a level where in opens back again. Then i'll have to attempt to close it again!

Same with the roof, its not a very user friendly auto function! I will check today if the roof auto closes

I thought that was just me ...what's the issue with the passenger window?

The lack of commonly available technology features is probably my only disappointment with my 997. No auto headlights, bt music streaming, etc...

Otherwise, I love it.

My dealer told me they will replace the passenger window regulator. I wonder if it is really broken.

I thought I read form manual that you need to press and hold passenger window button until window raised over 50%, then it will be auto closed.

Consider installing SMARTTOP's REMOTE Key http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/shop/in...ode=view&id=49

Their SMARTTOP for CABs is a must.

Same for me. I came from a 2006 Cayman and it did not have the same "feature." I thought the sensor was broken until I read it in the manual.

Thanks for the comments. This is what happens to me! I realize it SHOULD only auto close after it is half way up, but mine reaches a level, then goes back DOWN! Really bizarre. (Worked properly in my 08)

Still wondering if anyone else doesn't have the auto close feature on the sunroof.

Disconnect your battery for a few miutes and then reconnect it and reset the end position of your windows.

I'm thinking it isn't worth having the dealer fix it. They aren't going to fix anything.
