subscribed, great thread, 7.1 seconds is that on just COBB stage 2 with your pro-tune and an exhaust ?
I got a 6.989 60 to 130 yesterday in 82F heat but the biotch was downhill by 3.1% (unofficial) after a previous best 7.2s with my 996 K24's, E20 fueling. Stock WGs, stock DVs, stock K24's. 6MT. I shifted much earlier at 5900 rpm from 3rdto 4th to get a better load and longer time in 4th gear... really drops times by a good 0.1-0.2 secs

That's a great time you got on your 996 as well! Car must be a blast. When it comes to these acceleration runs the devil's always in the details and includes not only tuning but weather and road conditions, slope, tire/wheel choice, shift point/points for a given transmission, final drive, custom gears etc etc. The guys that devote the much needed attention to optimize their times and have a nice closed road to test on will always end up having a significant edge than someone else just doing a run ad hoc here and there. I guess its like anything else at the end of the day where you're trying to max things out, practice makes perfect and attention to detail always goes a long way.
