GT2 RS intercoolers on a 997.1 TT

Hi everybody!
I am planing to buy the GT2RS intercoolers for my TT.
Does anybody know what other items I have to buy as well for these to fit?
Will I have any problems with this modification?
Any help will be veeeeery welcome, I am very new in this
tuning and upgrading thing.

Hello,

There will be some modifications for airducts

Dont forget to pressure test them before fitment.
They tend to leak even when brand new...

Cheers,
Emre

Yes one need to cut some small pieces out, posted pics here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-datalogs.html

And since doing this is super simple, and the gt2rs is great quality, I think the constant attempts from vendors with expensive IC' trying to talk them down is a bit pathetic.

The risk of those IC's leaking at the pressure we use them seems very unlikely. But they probably will leak at 7bar where a welded AM IC wont, but that isnt very interesting for this application.

Highly recommend going ahead and epoxying the end tank to core interface. Great intercoolers and nothing comes close for the price but I have seen them leak even at 1.2 bar.

They work really well and are an excellent upgrade over OEM .1 ICs. We have them currently on our shop's 997.1 car thanks to earl and other guys who put the time in a long while ago to test them. That is certainly not to say the .2 ICs are the end all be all on this platform when it comes to efficiency and flow but they do control IATs really well due to their dense core.

Many of us have used Araldite with great results. Go around the areas where the polymer end tank touches the metal "fingers" of the core.

Remember to tighten the fingers by tapping lightly with a hammer or use pliers before epoxy.

Done this mode but I chose to buy and the 997.2 upper the lower ducts. Found them used so the cost wasn't too high. Of course nothing needs to be cut or trimmed, just plug and play.

I also found them used and when I placed the order the invoice came back charged as new! The company had run out of used ones suddenly...

I got mine from sonnen, all you need are the IC's, they come with new clips for the hoses.
