Jako...

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I bought an inexpensive android app (also a free limited version on google play) called Torque.

All you need is a cheap generic OBD II blue tooth dongle and an android tablet or phone. It does pretty cool real time logging, you can create dashboards, and read and clear some fault codes.

It is no Duramteric by any stretch but I have found it useful. You can mail your logs to yourself too as CSV files.

Here is a link to an example of the BT dongles that will work: LINK

And a link to the android app: LINK

Good luck,
DC

Me too. Torque plus and ELM327 from ebay. Been using it for a few years to watch my fuel trims and to reset CELs. Get an adaptor with an on/off button.

I have OBD Bluetooth reader and paid Torque app, but still it's about 100x worse, than buy real OBD software for Porsche called Durametric - http://www.durametric.com/ it cost 287$ and it has about 30x faster logging, you can see right codes and all porsche OBD chanels. Bluetooth OBD gives you quite little info and almoust all channels are quite useless.

Yep. As stated already this is a simple ANDROID app. The OP was asking about Android OBD readers. Also stated above is the acknowledgment that it is no where near the functionality of Durametric, or PIWIS /PSTII.

Seems like he just wanted to see what was available for the portable devices. While not full functioning, I have found the Torque app and BT OBD II dongle to be useful and fun to check and log items and to build dashboards for my various cars..

Any experiences with iphone based apps?

Anyone have feedback about iphone based apps? Looking for something that can give a reasonable accurate boost readout.

Yes it does, but faiz was asking about iPhone apps..last I knew (albeit a few months ago, it may be available now) torque was android-only..

I've had Dashcommand recommended to me. No first hand experience though:

I've read that a wifi connection to the OBD scanner will give better results.

iPhone App : OBD2 : REV

I bought the OBD2 dongle and the "REV" app. It was interesting for about 10 minutes but not compulsive viewing.

Also, the lack of updates from the REV application developer over the past couple of years makes this a bit of a side street if you are hoping to see improvements.

Now looking at Durametric from fvd.net (stephan.enzmann@fvd.net)
