Tire sizing- 20x11 and 20x8.5

Going to be purchasing these wheels from a board vendor but need to sort out tires.

I had planned to stick with an inexpensive tire like the Hankook v12s, but my car is going to be making a bit more power than I originally planned so I want to go with a Toyo 888, or similar.. at least out back.

Unfortunatly when you get into 20s options are limited.

Other than Toyo 888s (or the same Nitto version) any options I am missing?

99% street use.

Looking at 888s in these sizes:
285/35/20
315/30/20

no chance. 245/325 is the best you're going to do. Otherwise you'll torch your differential.

Toyo unfortunately doesn't offer many options. and besides I think you are right.. the 285 is too wide anyway. But only .1 diff in diameters? I assume the factory setup must have "overdrive" in the tires (aka, more rear diameter than front?)

Looks like I can do the Toyo 315/30ZR20 out back, need to find a decent matching tire for the front. Unfortunately the 888 is a fairly unique tread pattern.

What ratio of F:R diameter (and thus rollout) am I looking for?

I could go 19s, but would much prefer to +1.

Read a lot, and so if 245/30/20 and 325/25/20 is desired.. I want a .5" overall difference in diameter b/w front and rear tires.
My only rear tire option it looks like is the Michelin PSS.. Nothing really works with the toyo 315/30ZR20 that I have found. Would need to be a 27.1" diameter tire.

Am I missing something? Basically in 20s.. you have to run Michelin PSSs...

Looks like I could do a 235/30 with a 305/25 as well.

Jordon,

youre limited by wheel width. you should be on 9 and 12 not 8.5 and 11. on your set up, you need to be on 235/305 tires..
(235/30/20 - 305/25/20)
options are toyo, hankook, michelin, bridgestone, pirelli

245/325 is the closest to OEM front and rear diameters, and remains within all factory specs, but theyre not intended for an 8.5 an 11 width...

the michelin pss is the best option.. and theyre available in both sizes..

Yup, that is what I was grinding towards.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the wheels I want are not available in 12/9.

Gotta decide if what equates to 2X the cost (at least, wheels and tires) is worth it for 10mm in the front and 20 in the back!
