Steering wheel replacement
Steering wheel replacement
Used search, couldn't find it. I saw a thread a while back of a company that was making steering wheel replacements for our Turbo's (including PDK paddle shifter equipped ones) in alcantara/carbon fiber, and even had the hand grips larger. I'm really, really interested in this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? The suncoast ones look nice, but not as nice as the vendor that was selling them on here.

DCT's site says 997.1... nothing about .2. Do you guys know if they do .2 wheels?
Edit: search function ftw. If they can make them for 991's, they can make them for 997.2's I'm sure.

Curious about two things. 1. The sites says core required, so this means they use your wheel for the transformation? Or they rotate in and out , ie. I get the previous customers wheel and the next customer gets mine? I'd much rather have my own wheel back. 2. The flat bottomed wheels is that looks only or is it done to give you more space when entering and exiting the car?

Typically they create and send you a wheel and you send core within so many days or they charge you a core fee. That is so you are without your car for less time. I am pretty sure they will accommodate rebuilding your wheel if you prefer, as long as it is the same (i.e. they cannot take a round wheel and make the flat bottom).
On the shape - flat bottom...Sport wheel...does give more space AND is for looks as well...but primarily creating space.
I had mine custom made by Dallas Custom SW and they do great work and much less expensive than DCT...Just an option for you. They will build it however you like and Don (at Dallas CSW) is great to work with and quick. He had mine built just like I asked in two days and I had it in less than a week. Great workmanship...Just FYI.
BTW - the core charge is $300 at Dallas Custom Steering wheels and as soon as they get your wheel you get an immediate refund...like the same day.
Good luck...
