I have the ESmotor 3inch catless x-pipes .... They make them in 3 sound levels ... I got the loudest on my car, but even the muffled versions are plenty loud and half the price of an EP ..

I had the EP2 on my previous 997tt (6spd) and the thing was perfect yet I agree with the OP it could've been louder, lighter, or a tad bit less pricey ...

Hi Stef, that was in an email to you once I had it installed which was more than 2 weeks ago, I then followed it up by saying is there anything you can do to make it louder. Anyways I don't want to share our private discussion on a forum. This is my view now. No disrespect meant to your product. Thanks

Here's my take on my EP1-
As said b4, each of us has preference with exhaust sounds as is evidenced by so many with TT that have gone thru a number of AM exhausts on their car till they were happy.

In my view TIP trans makes it more difficult to choose an exhuast on the TT. In TIP auto mode revs are kept too low & trans is in too high a gear most all the time- resulting in some drone. Even in manual mode the large rpm difference between 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th gears makes it more difficult, than with a 6 sp, to keep rpms in sweet spot in normal town driving. Seems rpms are either too high or too low.
I talked to Stef about my 997.1 TT Tip & had many emails with him about the difference in EP1 & 2 for a TIP car. He recommended EP1 but did say he had customers who had EP2 on TIP cars. I drove a local 997.1TT with an EP2 but it was a 6 sp not a TIP. EP2 sounded wonderful to me & not at all loud. It did have slight drone between 2200-2600 when driving slowly that was easily resolved by changing gears on the 6sp- probably not so easily on the TIP -
I bought EP1 as Stef recommended & like the refined sound. Its not loud when driving in traffic yet sounds great when revs are up above 3500. Has no drone. I think i also would have liked the EP2 louder sound & increased performance but didn't want to chance the drone.

Something that everyone should keep in mind is that the exhaust is WAY louder from outside the car...

This is true. Always good to evaluate with window down as well. Even the sunroof up or open makes a diff.

The only variable is that you now have a modified ECU (private info, oops I’m sorry) and that this upgrade can make your car sound quieter.
I’ve seen this many times before on VTG Turbos and even had a customer who made a video of his car to prove it was quiet inside the cabin.
Altering the boost level and ignition timing does affect the loudness. Hence the louder sound during cold start.

And as I recall it was too quiet with the 200 cell cats so you went catless.

Sure sounds a bit better cattless but I put the 200-cells back on, the difference isnt worth the hassle to put catts on for the yearly smog test.

I also think low end tourque during cold starts in the winter on E85 improves with the catts in place.

Anyways the Kline sound pretty amazing (as I am sure you know).

Sorry to see that you are starting to act like a troll on here, I am sure the EP1-2 has happy customers (that dont mind the price tag).

At some forum there is prob a Achrapovic vs EP thread

I can confirm this as well. My buddy got his ECU tuned and was very excited to try it out as I thought I would be able to hear more Turbo whistle. When I got in I thought he went back to stock exhaust. Full disclosure: not sure what tune it was.

I m waiting next week my EP2 for my manual 997.1 Turbo.
I had europipe in my 996 Turbo for 6 years without any issues!
Great product, sport sound!

I think it's difficult to buy an exhaust for a cabriolet too. I'd love more sound, but I don't want something that is obnoxious when I'm cruising with the top down. The two that I'm really considering at this point are the Europipe and the Kline systems. I'm intrigued by inconel....
