Hello Porsche community,
I would like to formally introduce myself and the exciting venture we are moving forward with to better serve the community. My name is John Bray and some of you know me from my 14 years with Evolution Motorsports as Head Engine Development and Special Operations. I have been working with Porsche my whole professional career of 16 years and particularly the Mezger platform and its components. Since the first 996TT rolled off the dealer showroom floor, its engine has been my focus, developing products to make it stronger and more efficient. With countless Mezger style engine build experiences, it has been my wheelhouse since day one. From a simple connecting rod swap to complete 2000HP long block! The purpose of all this is to present my resume to the community an announce my departure from Evolution Motorsports to create a new, completely separate company, EvoSpec! Specialty Engine Concepts.

 

EvoSpec will offer the Porsche community an unmatched level of Porsche engine development and products for the 996TT,997TT,991TT, and GT3. As well as TESTED signature full build options starting at 900HP up to 2000+. 16+ years experience and real world testing will be put into every engine, component, and build that comes out of Spec. We have aligned with a unique group of performance individuals and outside product vendors to help achieve this goal. Vendors like CP/Carrillo, Syvecs, SRM, Holinger, Xona Turbo, Injector Dynamics, and many more are the top in their fields and enable us to develop and build professional, reliable high power cars for street and race. We then collaborate with Individuals like Wayne Potts, Bill Radar, Ryan Griffiths, Ryan Jakey and more complete the package by using their years of experience and success in their fields. This team of professionals coupled with Spec’s years of engine development brings an unmatched level of pure performance!

 

Above all I would just like to say hello and offer my experience to you with any questions you might have whether it be about Spec and its products or not. Come say hello at the upcoming Texas Invitational and we can chat it up. Spec will be attending and competing at the various events throughout the year. Congrats John on your new venture!For the members here you will be a valuable asset for anyone looking to build a high horsepower 996tt or 997 tt.I can personally vouch for John(owner of Evo Spec) because i have been working with him on my car for over 10 years.He absolutely IMO is the most knowledgable and experienced person building high horsepower Metzger engines in the business today and an all around great guy.He has built many of the top performing 996/997 tt cars out there.

 

Will u be doing full builds in your new place or just engines?I know your fully capable of both but just curious what your new setup will be?Dyno? Tuning? etc

 

Thanks for the kind words Joe! Very much appreciated! To answer your question I should first explain the dynamic we are doing here. Todd(owner of Evolution Motorsports) and I decided that to better serve the community, I should depart from EVOMS and start a separate company EvoSpec. This way all resources, money, and focus can be directed to each of their own products and services. Evoms will continue to offer the market quality tuning,bolt on performance products, and power kits. EvoSpec will carry and offer the full line of EVOMS tuning and products, as well as be one of many official installation centers to those that are not ready to get into the engine but want to use EvoSpec as their tuning partner. Even though we are separate companies, Both will support each other in strive to serve the community to the fullest!

Very good question! I (John Bray) own and run EvoSpec While Todd Zuccone owns and operates EVOMS. EvoSpec focuses purely on Internal engine development and Big HP Packages starting at 900HP+ as well as products and systems for these levels of power. Your extreme performance systems and Internal engine Boutique if you will.


EVOMS and company continue to develop and offer to the market off the shelf tunes from EVOMSit, bolt-on products and performance kits.



EvoSpec offers bolt on products from EVOMS as well as other vendors ( all will be on the website once live ) for those Spec customers who want to take a smaller step or perhaps have second daily driver car that needs a bit more than stock.

Just so everyone knows John Bray is the mastermind behind the design of my car. He built my engine which is the most powerful porsche engine in the world (Dyno and half mile results for proof). I've had over 50+ Kill pulls without failure before we decided to refresh it. John is a class act and he is the only person I would ever trust touching my porsche motor. You would be surprised how many other big shops he helps out around the country (none of which ever hits the forums).
