Video: Bolt-on 997.2 takes on monster-builds at NoFlyZone California 1/2 Mile Event
If I could I would have already. I've been asked not to post logs or dyno plot. Given how in current form my car has beat all other 3.8DI PDK cars on the airstrip - including cars with a lot more mods, power, etc, and posted 1/4 mile mph much higher than any other stock turbo catted 3.8 DI PDK, there are people who might want this information that GIAC/Champion does not want seeing. They worked hard for it I don't blame them. Sorry I couldn't provide this. Happy to give you a ride at the track someday.

A lot of people have...with differences in exhaust and intake (plenum, y pipe) choices. Most just don't post here.
"East coast Adam" is my clone on the other coast. His user name is TightTT. He's posted some of his event results including a 167.X half mile. His car is like mine.
From what I understand there are like 30 versions of the "9-second" tune depending on mod combination. Slight variances one each to deal with fueling. But all should run similar boost profiles.

I'll be there with my bone stock 997.1 TT. The only mod is the driver (me
) It'll be nice to see how much of a significant difference there is between a stock manual 997.1 TT and bolt on 997.2 TT. You guys are basically my inspiration at this point to leave my car stock and go hunting for a 997.2 TT in a year or so.

I'm a 2012 bone stock 997.2 turbo S. I do wanna see what our cars can do fbo. That's my plan down the line.

For me, I get a lot more excitement out of it.
I'm actually considering bringing my 2001 S4 wagon to the pocono event to see how my grocery-getter stacks up.
For me, roll racing is getting old (dare I say boring?) in the turbo. Cruise up to 60mph next to you opponent, mash the throttle at the cones, let off after the checkered flag. Eh.

if anything the 1 mile events will be the past, cars have gotten way too fast. Big boy GTRs and Lambos are hitting 220-250mph in the 1/2 now, a mile would just be crazy we would see 270-290mph, the safety is just not there, lots of spinouts once you start making big (1500whp+) power.

What would be the difference from a dig in your computer controlled PDK? Stage your car with computer taking care of launch control, let go of the brake, computer manages most of your wheel spin, computer gives you perfect no lift lightning shifts for the rest of the pull and then you pass the checkered flag and brake.
If you wanted more involvement then a 6spd 911 should be in your cards or bring your S4 (I had a AWE STG3 S4 back in the day, one of the best overall machines I owned!) and have full involvement no matter from a dig or roll!

i was talking to Lucas that drives the 247mph ETS GTR and he had his doubts about even racing the 1/2 again due to weird sh*t happening in that uncharted territory (like windows blowing out). Huge difference between 200mph and 250mph. My GTR does mid-high 190s in the 1/2 and feels like teleportation already comped to my 997, i cant imagine another 1500hp on top of what i got. UGR guys only use full boost in gears 4-6, before its baby boost, given longer gears they have the power to do 300mph.

I fully enjoy these 1/2 mile events but there safety check is none existent, Zilch, none, nada. Your an Idiot if your running 200mph in the half with out full on safety gear and your car is rated to keep you alive in a crash at that speed. 1 mile sanctioned events are way safer.
You are correct a Ford ran I think it was 287mph and that was done 5-6 years ago now I believe, Gidi's car he just ran at 250 they would have a hell of a time keeping it on the ground in the mile. For us mere mortals with a budget that don't want to or cant spend 500k on a lambo build and another 150k to keep it running every year. The mile is one hell of an adrenaline rush gives you enough time to think about how fast your going.
Every time I see this I cant wait to run it again. This was the 1.5 mile which is even funner.
You are saying rolls are boring coming from PDK owner

Was just about to type and saw my response to why no 1 mile written already below. Figure most that go to these events are not professional drivers, with very powerful cars travelling at crazy speeds is not that reassuring as well.

If we are talking quick acceleration points 1/4 (even roll), 60-130 or 160, but 1/2 mile should be the limit.
