Question regarding boost loss shortly after installing Cobb stage 2.
Thinking the extra boost might have pushed something off?
I have fabspeed cold air intake and speedtech 3.0 X-Pipe running cobb stage 2 on 93 octane and just yesterday noticed boost levels building up to max and then dropping and coming back up just to drop again. It would seem I am losing pressure somewhere. I have checked the ends of the y-pipe and everything seems in order there (all seems tight); it is a 997.1 Turbo, does anyone have thoughts on what I should check next to see where my pressure loss is coming from or should I bite the bullet and buy a pressure test kit and go from there?
Thanks guys!

There are a few spots it could leak like that. sounds like a clamp letting go at full boost. try checking the plenum clamps. You will need a long screwdriver and a flashlight. Then the y pipe. If all the clamps are tight and hoses are on flush you will need to do like hotrod said and pressure test.
Has anyone ever installed a true analog boost gauge in the car? I'd really like to do this as I start down the path of modding the car, as I want to see a real-time boost pattern - not an interpretation through the ECU. I'm curious as to the best place to tap into and where to route the line through the firewall into the cabin.

Nice, clean install. I wouldn't want to screw up my interior so would probably just mount the gauge to the steering column. Where did you tap into for the boost measurement?

usually that would indicate pre-intercooler reading vs. post . not sure what kinda pressure drop there is across the coolers but it's prolly close to 2psi . stock reading would probably be an accurate post cooler reading.
Is there really a 2 psi drop across the intercoolers? That seems pretty large, although my past experience is with a single IC car (3rd gen RX-7). And is the stock reading taken post-intercooler?
I also realized my previous post may have come across poorly. I didn't mean that I thought longboarder's interior looked screwed up. I just meant that if I tried to take apart my dash to do something like that, I'd probably screw mine up.
