Swapping Alpha to V-Band?

I'm currently running A3071's with the internal gates blocked off and I'm running externals.

Does anyone know if Tial or Garret sell a V-band housing that will swap over?

I want to completely ditch the internals and run V band manifolds and a V band exhaust.

Or will I just have to buy new v band turbos...

Hey Al how you been,

The Tial Vband will fit I can confirm that, you will need to make a new hanger for the turbo though. A friend recently did the swap after finding a crack in the alpha housing ... Direct swap, I'd get the 0.63 if staying with the stock engine ..

Good luck ..

Hey I've been good, just getting around to sorting some stuff out on the car.

Was your friends turbo definitely 3071?

http://www.tialsport.com/index.php/t...ings/72-gt30ss

This is saying not for the 3071

Also as for the hangers, the bolt pattern on the housing is still the same, or do the hangers need to be changed because the V Band locates the turbo differently?

It was a 76, but the hot sides are the same ... Think that it wont work with the regulat gt's as I've seen them used on gtx30/71's .....

Perhaps tial makes ones specially for the xona chra?

Your best bet is to ask forcedPerformance

Yeh I'll shoot them an email, thanks!

Maybe I should just go with my build turbos now and run them carefully

Yeh I will.

Im starting to gather my build parts, ill be getting my V band manifolds and V band exhaust in the next couple of weeks. Just weighing up if its worth putting it on the car now until I build in the winter or not.

I don't think its worth it. What you have now will work perfect.

I get the desire to do vbands, but I wouldn't want to spend the money on external wastegates.
