What do you think the final cost is for the build, aftermarket bolt on solutions are starting at $4000.00.
might be time to brush up on my welding skills.

Is this intended for street use?
I'm at about $500-$600 CAD so far. I'm not anticipating much more than this. This is a street car that I use in the spring/summer/fall seasons. I have all my welders, grinders, etc. to get the work done so no additional costs there. The most expensive parts so far have been the catalytic converters.
My plan is to get a Cobb tune after and shoot for about 600whp.
I am curious where you found cats. The only ones I have seen (that have a good rep) are like $900 US each.

I have great success in the past using the Vibrant cats. I am using two of their 3” x 4.5” ones for this build. I have had their cats on my civic race car. That car had 650 hp and street legal. I have tried to source HJS cats in the past and they are very expensive but great quality.
Just a heads up - the EGT's in the 997TT are extremely high and destroy cats unlike any other previous generation Porsche. Those cats are known to disintegrate regularly on the 997TT and the substrate foil then plugs the exhaust creating loss of power and engine overheating. I would keep a careful eye on it...the only cat we have had success with on the 997TT is HJS and we tested several...all failed on the 997TT, except HJS.
That's what I had heard. I have some exhaust parts but no cats, and I haven't found them for less than around $900 a piece which explains why aftermarket exhausts for the 997 are what they are. While some of the shops may be able to get better pricing, the HJS's are still pricey.
Edgemonty007, that is great. And we live pretty close. Are you in Heritage Mountain area? I am currently traveling until next month. Please send ne PM and we can meet up.

Did you figure out where is the leak yet?
I'm in Anmore. Safe travels!
No luck on the leak yet as I haven't driven the car. I have to say that I really do like the look of the engine cleaned up after steam cleaning it. It was a fair bit of work but I'm happy with the result. It is still on the lift waiting for the other service parts to come in, namely the fuel filter and the exhaust flanges I ordered which haven't showed up yet. I will be starting work on the exhaust this coming week.
@John@Speedtech brings up a very valid point about the EGT's. I'm returning the cats I currently have and go with a cat-less setup for now till I get the cat situation sorted. I had an interesting idea last night where I would have the O2 sensors in the normal space with no cats but an exhaust extender for the secondary sensors and then put a cat closer to the end of the system to avoid the smell. I know that is not ideal but in theory the EGT's should have come down in temp due to some heat dissipation from the primary length of the exhaust. Not sure if that makes sense but I'm going to play around with a few ideas.
There was a site (I wish I could remember where I saw it) that had little CATS for you to screw in to where the sensors go and then the sensors into them. They say it "should" stop CELS.
Small update finally got my flanges and some other parts I was waiting for namely the O2 extenders and the fuel filter. I’m planning to get a good start on the exhaust this week - never seem to have time between family and work obligations. Stay tuned!
