Tip Faster then Manual?

Can anyone comment on the claimed acceleration times Porsche has released for the 997 TT? How is it that the 5-speed auto is .3 secs faster then the 6 speed manual? Is this a new Tiptronic gear box?

I can see a sequential manual being faster then a standard trans, but hasn't Porsche's Tiptronic historically been slower then the manual?

Claiming:
3.4 secs to 60 for the 5-speed auto.
3.7 secs to 60 for the 6-speed manual.

thats true.... due to the fact that the tip work perfectly with the new VTG technology. The tip on the turbo is a new...not the same as the old 996TT or the 997 carrera....

Is the new tip a 6-speed? Seems kind of silly to make a 6-speed manual and a 5-speed auto.

As I understand it, there will be 2 different tiptronic transmissions, the regular and the "S". The S is an option, and together with the optional sport chrono package, is the one that produces the 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Expect to pay extra for both options...

That was a question I had earlier. Can you get overboost on the manual or is that only an option with the tiptronic S. I also though tiptronic S simply meant shifters on the wheel. Are you sure it is not the same transmission, but with the overboost button so to speak?

So to make it clear:
-ONE Tiptronic S (other option: Manual).
-ONE Sport Chrono Turbo Package (other option: without Sport Chrono).
Sport Chrono Turbo Package is available as an option for both, Tiptronic S and Manual.

Overboost comes ONLY with the Sport Chrono Turbo Package, it is not a seperate option!

I'm dying to know how they are doing this with the Tiptronic. In the 997S, the tip is a full second slower 0-99mph.

Now, in the TT, it is 0.6 seconds faster? Whatever they did, it seems to be a technological miracle.
