Replacing my 996TT with a 997.1TT

I've have my 996TT for about 8 years now and I love it. It is my 2nd 911 (1st was an '03 C2). My current car is set up exactly how I want it and I did all the work to get it there myself. I do my own maintenance also so over the years I've gained intimate knowledge of my car and how to take proper care of it. As much as I love it, it's hard not to appreciate the beauty of the 997 body and interior.
My plan is to pick up a clean example of a Mezger engined 997TT and use as some of the parts from my 996TT (specifically the turbos, IC's and meth kit) I know the methanol injection system is compatible as well as the GT2 RS IC's but I do not know if the Alpha 28s I have will fit in place of the stock VGTs on the 997. They are not the Xona models, but the most recent Tial A28s before Xona internals were available and they have very low miles on them so I want to put the k16's and stock injectors/tune back on my 996 before selling it. I'm shooting for 600awhp which is what I have now (rwd).
Anyone who has made a similar upgrade, please share any tips or advice on how to accomplish my goal or whether I should even attempt to replace the stock 997 turbos or just get a tune/exhaust and leave it alone.
I appreciate any advice from the community. Thanks

Is there any one who can reply as to whether the water cooled Tial A28s's that are made to bolt on to the 996TT platform can be used to replace the VTG's on the 997TT with supporting mods (injectors, tune, exhaust)?

Have you posted to other Porsche forums, in case no one has done this here?

I am almost certain that the Alpha 28's can fit like PTF (Dzenno) did with his A3076 that was off of a 996. He just had to add a spacer or reducer (I don't remember) for the exhaust to fit flush with the bumper.

If you are looking to do 600whp, a re-wheeled VGT 63.5-68mm can do that on pump and 650whp with meth. I would not bother with the A28's and just do rewheel-ed VGT's for the OEM fit/look and simplicity. IF you were looking to do 700whp on pump then yes a 3076 (or the newer XONA's) might make sense on pump & 780+whp with meth, but if only 600 stick with the VGT's.

This is all very useful information - both about the 996-997tt fitment but also the capabilities of a tuned VGT as an option as I definitely happy with 600hp at the rear wheels - and I'm talking about on 100octane, not 93/91. If the stock VTG's can be modded and produce 600whp on pump that would be fantastic. On my car I have to run 100octane to get 600rwhp. I just run the methanol for safety and consistent performance on hot days.
I'm really excited to be shopping for a newer 911 turbo and starting the modding process again. I've had mine at the point where I am happy with it for years now so I am doing what any sane human would...spending a bunch of money to start over on a newer platform. The 997 is just beautiful in and out though...there's no arguing with that.

I like the STROSEK or strosek style wing. I had one on my 03 TT. Way better than the stock wing imo. Good Luck on your hunt.

The hunt is not going well so far. Seems like the ratio of Tiptronic to manual cars for sale is about 5:1 and I don't want an auto. I plan to keep the replacement for my current car for a very long time so I will have to be patient and then aggressive once the perfect example shows up on the market. Thanks for the compliment on the Strosek wing; I wish it was as easy to upgrade the stock headlights + interior.
