Service pricing
My local P Car dealer turned into a Ferrari dealer. The pricing over the last year has skyrocketed.
ive been a loyal dealer service guy over the past 10 years.

The independent that I have used for years in my area is significantly less than what the dealership charges me for similar services. Any parts needed are actually delivered via the dealership.
A few years ago I had my coolant lines pinned and decided to replace my clutch. The price I paid to the independent was approximately $4,500 less than what was quoted at dealership.
Finding an independent that is reputable may be as easy as contacting members of the local Porsche Club of America in your area. The PCA website has a directory by region.

Remember our platform is now 2 generations old versus what the P-car dealer is training its staff on. In the 4 dealers I've been to in the last year I don't see many "grey hairs"in the service dept. they are probably spending most of their time doing work on Macans - how often are they working on 997s anymore (obviously if we're just talking oil change then I guess that's fine but @ 625 it should be)
I would prefer an indy who has been working on the platform since it came out to be trusted with my car even if its minor work.
I'll second recommendation of TKX above - Taso and team are top notch and (I'm sure they wouldn't mind me saying) they have multiple decades of experience of the 997 between them. been using them on my 997 for 4 years now.

they are also PCA board sponsors and Taso is the tech expert for track/etc.
OP....since you've been (literally) taking it up the wrong hole with dealer service for the last 10 years I think you will be pleasantly surprised with TKX (pricing, service, quality and level of stuff they work on).
Guys I appreciate all the advice and I’m taking it. Found an Indy one town over. Will talk with Tkx in Huntington but it’s not real easy to get back and forth to them from me on the south shore of Nassau. Traffic stinks here.
Does anyone use an extractor to remove the oil out of a 997.2. Is this Good idea or bad idea. Would certainly make my life easier if it was not bad for the car.
thanks all for the suggestions and Guideance.

Prices seem steep. I do most of my own work. Just had the Water Pump go out on me. I did the repair myself. Straight-forward once you take apart most of the car - would be a good time for you to do the plugs/oil change and belt/pulleys as you will need to lower the engine 4-5". For the coolant flush I would strongly recommend to get an Airlift tool. Works very well and made the coolant fill so much easier. This is the exact one I got: https://www.cpsproducts.com/product-details/550500/
