Next 911 Turbo S??
Porsche won't dump the parts bin on the Turbo for at least 18 months, my guess.
However, if Turbo sales ever lag, they will surely roll it out. Last time 'round it was a few years after the TT launch. This time, I would suspect less time.
Next Spring should be the TT Cab launch in the US, if not a bit sooner. Thereafter, we might see a TT S coupe/cab later that year, if not the year after.
So....guessing? Who knows?

The 993 TT S was released in '97 and the TT came in '95.
My guess is 2008.

the 996 Turbo S isn't that much different from the 996 Turbo (just PCCB and X-50), so unless Porsche makes some major changes on the new Turbo S, you might as well just get the regular Turbo instead of waiting.

TURBO S-The vital statistics of the Turbo S are impressive. Power is raised to 444bhp, and pulling power leaps to 620Nm from 560Nm. This increase in engine responsiveness manifests itself particularly during in-gear acceleration – which is stunning. The engine delivers these remarkable figures courtesy of larger turbochargers, modified intercoolers and revised engine management electronics.
X50-The X50 package must be specified at build time and cannot be retrofitted. The substance of it resides beneath the Turbo's rear wing in the form of modified turbochargers (more boost), larger intercoolers, and more aggressive engine-control programming. It takes the standard Turbo's 420-horse rating up to 450
So, from this we see that the turbo S has LARGER TURBOS, MODIF. INTERCOOLERS AND NEW ENGINE MANAGEMENT. the x50 has MORE BOOST TO THE TURBOS, LARGER INTERCOOLERS AND NEW ENGINE MANAGEMENT.
i hope this cleared a few thing up between the two. And im not quite sure how to get rep points but if this works, rep me up, if not can someone explain how to get them?

x 50 was basically the package before they had the s. The cars were the same just without the s emblem visible on the rear. The package has been available for years on the Cayenne this year it is called the S.
