First drive: Protomotive 650 TT
I picked up my Protomotive-tuned 997TT from Sharkwerks about 2 hours ago, and my hands have finally stopped shaking enough to write a note.
Up until three weeks ago, my 997TT had just the Protomotive ECU, with which it made 471 AWHP on a mustang Dyno (550 BHP @ 15% loss). The ECU had transformed the 997 from a quick car into a genuine hooligan machine; it literally felt like a different vehicle. Thus I could hardly wait to see what Todd had in store next.
To that end, Sharky & the gang installed the Protomotive exhaust, EVO headers, and shipped the stock turbos off to Protomotive for some compressor-side magic. The ECU also went along for a reflash to accommodate the new airflow. The parts arrived back last week, and they handed over the completed car to me this afternoon.
In a word: WOW. The 997 is once again transformed; there is literally as much difference between the ECU-modified car and now, as there was between the stock 997TT and the ECU version. There's wheelspin on dry ground all the way through 1st at this point, wheelspin in 2nd and even 3rd in the rain is as close as the "sport" button. Turbo lag is significantly reduced, and the boost comes on more quickly and holds all the way to redline. Torque feels up moderately, and no longer falls off at upper RPMs. I'll go out on a limb and guesstimate 550 - 575 AWHP at this point; Todd dyno'd a similar setup with stock headers and got 561 AWHP.
There's no discernable downside to this package. The car still drives like stock when I putting around; the exhaust is moderate (62 dBA idle, 77 dBA at 65 mph cruise) inside the cabin and downright nasty outside when you get on the throttle. There's more power, less turbo lag, and a proper sports car sound. As an added bonus, the entire package cost <$11K installed, which seems to be a bargain in the P-car world for a 170+ HP increase.
Next up: more driving, and dyno pulls scheduled for Friday.

Wow-sweet news and congrats! I gotta take a spin with you. I'm at stage IV and am looking for more. "Alex-James"
Cant wait for the dyno's. I would dyno with you but will be in So Cal just about every day for the next two weeks.
Thanks for the write up.

Ben, you should def get out to the track! If you miss Fred on V-Day, I will be at Laguna next Mon/Tues with Audi Golden Gate Club. My TT will still be on the boat, so I'll be driving a Cayman an E60 M5.
I'd love to know what kind of lap times the Stage IV and Proto TT would get at Laguna. I was doing 1:55s in my family sedan last time I was out there.
