Tuner friendly DC dealerships/Aftermarket advice

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone could tell me which would be the most tuner-friendly dealer(s) in Washington DC. Rockville Porsche would be closest. Would love to hear some experiences good or bad.

Also I'm about to acquire my first Porsche (a 997 TT) and would be interested in thoughts/opinions/etc. re: Fabspeed's maxflo exhaust (including the exhaust note) and computer chip. I'm not terribly well read on aftermarket stuff for these cars would very much appreciate feedback as to the pros and cons of the various brands, hands-down favorites, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Tischer in silver spring used to be an EvoMS dealer but I don't think they do that anymore. But I would think that they are pretty mod friendly if they used to sell and install aftermarket parts themselves.

I ve bought new from both Tischer and HBL in Tysons and used both service depts.

They are both good in my opinion.

All my work was done under warranty so I never had to pay a dime but I was satisfied with the service and with the professionalism of the employees.

Of course Doc isnt at Tischer anymore. He was a great Mechanic. I thinked he passed away a few years ago after I moved to Florida.

I asked my dealer in Edinburgh, Scotland to fit bypass pipes to my Cayenne TT and they said that they could not do it as Porsche would fine them. All invoices are audited they said and they wouldnt look at it.
They also said that a noise I had coming from my steering wheel may be caused by my 22" wheels and in order to look at it I would have to fit my 20" wheels on or the warranty would be void.

What a crock!!!!

Tischer is good, they will do aftermarket stuff. They installed boardmember MXRacer's GT3rs clutch and lightweight flywheel.

Also, porsche of arlington, not the best dealership, but they will do aftermarket stuff as well. You MUST negotiate on install prices though. They sold me my fabspeed loud and installed it.

I got my fabspeed at ATV and saved $500. Looks like real quality workmanship.

I got my 997TT from Suncoast Motorsports in Sarasota Florida and they did the Fabspeed exhaust and EVO headers. They are a mod frinedly dealer and very competent having done many EVO stage 1~4 mods on 996 and 997TT. Check with Phil/mods, Herb/service, Ron/Carlos/purchase.

You could drive down for a vacation, stay on the beach while the car gets modded and drive back to DC with your "new" 997TT.
