CEL light?

Anyone had any issues with CEL light after installing an aftermarket Header?

I installed the fabspeed header 2 days ago, today was driving it, got a CEL light warning.

Says Bring to Engine Diagnostics Workshop.

Any thoughts?

The headers can not cause a CEL. If you had the exhaust done at the same time it is possiable they didn't tighten the 02s or mixed up locations.

For anyone who is interested, the INNOVA 3130 scantool has no problem interfacing with the 997TT's OBDII system and can display interesting info like EGT, intake temps, ignition retard, etc. It'd also make it much easier to understand why your ECU doesn't like what it sees. For $180 it's a good investment.

Keep in mind what ever scan tool you use it has to be a CAN system compliant.

So it claims, I have not yet had the occasion to do so.

And it's compatible with CAN.

Innove 3130

Yup, after Ben said his worked well, I grabbed one. It works fine with CAN, it'll reset error codes, and read out live data Nice little investment.

BTW, we got a car in here with a set of aftermarket headers on it and the drivers side flange was warped about .080" and had a horrible leak. We had to remove it and machine it to stop the leak and get the O2's back in range. You may have the same issue?

It also had an exhaust with some early developmental cats and nearly immediately flagged some cat efficiency codes. P0420/P0430...
