Come on I like to blind people So far no one has high beamed be to tell me I am blinding them. I have passed many cars and usually someone will do it. They are bright I must say and I am glad that I did them.

The bulbs are already installed so there isn't much to photograph because the housing remains the same. Unlike the 997S, the 997 TT uses reflector type fog lights and the bulb comes attached to a wire with a male connector thats about 3-4 inches long. Funny thing looking at the manual there is a description for replacing all the bulbs on the exterior of the car except the fog lights (and led's) so for me it was a learning experience.
Thanks!!

Jason,
Did you install the HID in the fogs? Come on spill it. I haven't had time to get night shots setup yet. Did the spot that I showed help out?
And Jason is right without a lift it is a Bi*ch!

Khanh,
No, not yet. I was referring to the time when I removed the Hoen foglight bulbs and put the OEM bulbs back in. Took 45 minutes just to do one side with the car on jackstands. I gave up when I started doing the other side because my arm got so tired. Went to the dealership and begged them to do the other side. They took the car, put it on a lift and did it in 2 minutes! Boy was I surprised at that!
If I recall, space in there was pretty tight so I'm still scratching my head at how your guy managed to get the HID bulb in there with the huge cable coming out.

Ahh - okay. I thought you were proceeding with putting in the HID's. I made nice with the local shop that lets me use their jacks and lifts in an open bay they use for recieving tires/wheels.
My guy who put the HID's in there said it was not as easy as he was hoping but it wasn't too bad. It is very tight in there! If I get a chance to put it on the rack this weekend I will try to snap more pics. Standing underneath the car is much better than laying underneath it Make nice with a local shop so you can use a lift to get under it. I was hoping to do it last weekend for the Cayenne to make those lowering links but his bay was full. I will do it this weekend. My dealership said they were cool with me using lowering links and would not have a problem with it. Just make sure I keep the old ones

sorry for bringing this thread back to life but some of the pictures are no longer available and i also wanted to see if there are any changes in the past year concerning HID kits in the fog.
i basically am looking to upgrade/change the stock HID low beams to something a little bit bluer (6000K) and have the fog lights match them. any input would be helpful and thanks in advance!

I dont think everyone is getting the picture here. The question that I asked was if anyone has done an HID conversion on the fogs and used 6000k bulbs. No filament bulb can even come close to matching the color and intensity of an HID bulb. period. I wanst talking about the 6000k halogen bulbs that are meant to simulate the "HID" look.
so, has anyone done this?

What input are you looking for?
1) Has anyone put the 6000K HID lighting kit into the fogs? Yes - I have.
2) It is it a bi*tch to put them in there? YES.
3) Where do you mount the ballasts? Can't show pics its hard to show. Put it behind the inner fender lining/radiator and run your cables.
4) Does it match 6000K bulbs? 95% matching with the same 6000K bulbs. Optics in the lens for the headlights as opposed to the fogs creates a little variation.

ApexCone's 6000K Kit. Don't know total cost it was not expensive. $170 for the HID kit for the fogs and $75 for the bulbs roughly.
Depending on your budget you can spend more to get almost the same results. Apex has lasted me a long time. I got the kit from Supreme Power Parts in Cali.

Bought the same ones from Eric except in the 3000k format and 55w ballasts (all Apex cone bulbs are 55w already) and they look great. A real fog light--- yellow and excellent visibility created. Before that I ran 35w HID fogs (3000k) which were fine but clearly not as bright.
