I put Hoen H-3's in the front fog lights the first day I got my turbo, along with a pair of front parking light bulbs, side marker bulbs and rear license plate bulbs. The stock ones are yellow and don't match the Xenon headlights. Quick note: The fog lights were a bit of a pain to do because you have to jack up the front of the car and get your hands up under them (a big plus if you have small hands). I finally got them to seat in their reflective housings where they "lock" in place. There are 3 tabs to line up into the socket and you have to do it just right. After a few trys I finally got them to lock in securely. The rest are a breeze to do in comparison. Type "Hoen" on Google and you should get to their website for the proper sizes and prices. They have a package deal for the whole car relatively cheap. Good luck.

Do you have some pics of this setup?

The bulbs are already installed so there isn't much to photograph because the housing remains the same. Unlike the 997S, the 997 TT uses reflector type fog lights and the bulb comes attached to a wire with a male connector thats about 3-4 inches long. Funny thing looking at the manual there is a description for replacing all the bulbs on the exterior of the car except the fog lights (and led's) so for me it was a learning experience.

I'm not referring to a 6000k filament replacement. I am talking about an HID conversion. this would require the ballast and all. anyone?

I haven't done it on my porsche 996, but i did it

last week on my BMW M3, i replaced the fogs with projectile fog light housing + 6000k HID Xenon i got on Ebay. Gotta tell you, a big difference, i am thinking to do the same on the porsche now.
I can tell that people notice it a lot too, and roads are much brighter at night

I think 6000k or 8000k fog HID xenon kits are a must for Porsches.

H3's, night and day difference in the looks dept.

Going with an HID install is a bit more complicated and I would not feel confortable with the added draw at startup igniting another set of HID ballasts through the tiny wiring in the fog lamp area.

Did you replace the high beam bulb with the Hoen H11? It color matches the HID pretty close.

Do you know what kind of Xenon bulbs does the 996TT have? 6000k?
If so, is it possible to change the bulbs to 8000k? Do you know where I can buy 8000k bulbs?

Thanks
