AWE vs. Fabspeed Sound?

Of course I can listen to sounds clips online but has anyone heard the 2 exhausts in person? Curious your thoughts/input. AWE seems a bit quiet and not much different than stock. I want something noticeable but not annoying. Any inpt would be appreciated!

AWE is alot different than stock. It is louder than my GT3 at idle with the sport mode on, and quite a bit deeper. I have not heard a fabspeed in person but have heard it is a bit louder yet.

I found a Fabspeed at a dealer for dirt cheap , Iam going to ceramic coat it satin black, mfg a set of seals for the stap so no dirt can get a wear between the mufflers and the strap.

For the cost savings I paid I can get the tip's and the intake system .

I do like the how you can interchange the system and replace a cat if it goes bad....

My other favorite was the Milltek since uses 100 cell cat's

Will install when my 08 arrives

The FS is what I run. This is on a daily driver that I use even with my family. At cruise on the HWY my tires are more intrusive than the exhaust. When I am on it though it is very harmonic to say the least. In addition to that, the cost per HP is hard to beat. I have probably sold 60-70 units. I have lost count

The only "problem" with Fabspeed is i do not have a tuner near me. Whereas with AWE I can drive an hour and get chipped and exhaust installed. I could have my dealer install my Fabspeed exhaust but i still need to go somewhere for my chip and do not want to remove my ECU.

Gottcha, why mess with your ECU at all. Just do a clone so you have both and don't have to worry about the dealer ever.

slykmr-

Most of my potential clients like the fact that we have a 30 day money back guarantee if they are not satisfied. To date, only one client has taken me up on that offer. He was looking for something far louder than what we offer.

It's best described as quiet when it needs to be and loud when you want it to be.

No drone on highway cruise, but angry sounding at wide open throttle.

We focus our product development towards the discerning Porsche owner that may use the car for a client lunch or dinner date with that blonde Swedish supermodel you are seeing on the side...

I urge you to give us a try. Our products and services will not disappoint.

A while back, Chris (E55AMG) and I visited the AWE facility in Willow Grove, then drove over to Fabspeed's HQ (about 5 miles away). We listened to, and drove, both their demo cars. Both are excellent products. Of course, sound appreciation is entirely subjective, but I think the AWE is a bit louder and deeper than stock at low rpms, even more so at speed (their car had the GIAC ECU, too. What a blast!)

The FS is louder still, and a bit raspier (sportier?) In my drive with the FS car, I liked the subtle aggressiveness of the note and found it to be not too loud at speed (but didn't get a chance to try WOT).

Which one is "better" depends on who you ask. Kinda like which blue is better, midnight or cobalt.

Personally, I'm leaning towards the AWE because I don't want alot of attention. My preference would be my old 930 with headers, big turbo and no cat. That car made a nice, deep rumble but was very easy to live with.

Good luck with what ever choice you make.

Have to agree with what everyone else said. Ken and I did spend time at both facilities and both are first class operations who really want to make their customers happy.

I thought the AWE was a bit quieter than the FS and I chose FS. Neither is intrusive and i'm sure you'll be happy with either one.

What are you talking about? Flashing a spare ecu? I asked you to do this for me and you said no dice. Do you have them now?

Huh? You can do it and I have done them since day one. It takes 997TT in house and a PIWIS and a buddy at Porsche to give you the codes I have two ECUs here to flash. All I need is your VIN and I can do the rest here. We have done about 20 so far.

Is having an extra ECU an alternative to having the handheld device that allows changes. Cost aside, which do you recommend - extra ECU or handheld device? Thanks.
