Suspension upgrades for the 997tt

Does anyone have a recommendation/ advice on upgrades to the 997tt suspension?

I've been mulling this one over a lot and am divided. On one hand the stock tuning is great for day-to day, on the other there are days when I really miss my old 997 C2S. The sport setting on PASM definitely helps, but it still not as direct with the great feedback I had on the Carrera (I know 4wheel drive and extra weight makes a direct comparison difficult).

I'm hearing good things about the techart pieces.

Thanks.

When my car arrives I will be having the dealership install my TechArt springs. From the information that has been posted everyone seems to be very happy with them and even go as far to say they should be the way they should have come from the factory. IMHO I do not think the Coilovers are worth the money but the springs are a bargain.

Good luck and please post pics and comments when you get whatever you end up getting installed.

I hope to have mine in less than 3 weeks.

I have run the TA springs for 13K miles and love them. I have taken several trips and they are compliant on the street and dropped just enough not to get you in trouble on the road. The sport mode is a little stiffer but because they are progressive they are not going to jar your fillings out.

I have sold probably 15 sets and everyone feels the same and we all use them as daily drivers.

Thanks PorschePhd and Alpine 997.

Glad to hear about the improved ride!

Do the Techart springs handle appreciatively better? I hope they cancel the "floatiness" in hard cornering that I don't like in the stock handling. I'm thinking of going with the springs, stock wheels and tires (haven't found anything I love yet) and the Porsche 5mm spacers.

I think the spacers will help the stock wheels fill out the wells (Oh, and the '08 aerokit when its available!)

Have you looked at Eibach lowering for this car? I have used them on several projects in the past and have worked out well, no experience on the Porsche

Has anyone had these on their 997? Thoughts? feedback?

the techart springs look like they are made by eibach. stick with techart or you may end up with unknown spring rates or ones designed for different applications (eg. c2s).

The Techart Springs are Eibach sourced. They even have Eibach logos on them.

If anyone knew that info, we could order from Eibach for about $300/set

hey rockamoto, we've been installing the PASM Tech Art coil over kit which we've found to work really well. It's adjustable in terms of the ride height and you still get to use your two settings only they're much more compliant with this set up. The improvement in handling is really quite stark. We're doing a couple of 997TTs this week with that set up and since you're local you're most welcome to come and check them out.

rockamoto,
Do the Tech Arts's-trust me! My car has changed from facorty (which is good) to Mr. Gorilla Glue on the twisties. As long as I have this car I will NOT go back to OEM.
