Squeeky brakes

I've had my car for approximately 1 month and the breaks squeak. I would expect this from a stupid Ferrari but a Porsche??? Has anyone else had any brake issues and or solutions to my problem. I'm going to be bringing the car into service later this week.

Is it low mileage? Try this, at speed, pull up on the hand brake. Did the trick on my 997C2S.

My car has 500 iles on it...should it go away once the brakes wear down a little? It's not only at high speeds but rather all the time. I am very disappointed to pay 140K for a car that sounds like a bus when you are just cruising in a parking lot and people turn around not by a "good sound".

squeaky high performance brakes are somewhat normal - at slow speeds. My Evo did it, my old mans E63 does it. Try some hard brake stops in a safe area, works for a while, just re-do when needed.

There are 3 different type of brake pads for the car. Like gmoney says lots of high performance brakes will squeak. Talk to the dealer and they will go over the different type of brake pads they can put on the car.

had driven my cayman s for only about 2,000 miles and after a rather "spirited drive" i heard the same noises braking at low speeds. i have since taken my car to the limit but have not heard the noise again. so it may not persist for more than a few days

I find that after a good amount of brake dust build up it is bound to make noise. I simply take the car to the nearest "rinse" off pressure washing places and take care of the rotors. Not exactly pressure washing them just getting a majorty of the build up off. Works everytime. Just my .02.

It's all about the high price you paid to get high performance squeaks.

Who cares if you squeak a little - when they look down at the Big Red or Yellow calipers and see the drilled discs they know that its gonna stop the car

Change the pads if you don't like the squeaks or just deal with them once in a while and know you drive a performance machine..

I called my dealer to inquire about the squeaking breaks and they told me it's normal due to the high performance pad compound. They also said it happens more when its very humid outside (?) who knows? They also said they have a spray that eliminates it for about 300 miles but it will come back eventually (?)

Mine squeaks at very very low speed (5mph) with light pedal application. I don't really care too much. As long as it isn't everytime I apply the brake it's all good.

Hi all. Just got my 2008 TT with around 3k miles and the brakes are VERY squeaky - mostly from the front. I haven't done any hard braking yet but is this due to the metallic compound and cold weather or is there something wrong??

My 2009 has 2900 miles on it and the brakes squeak like a bus. I attribute it to the fact that I mostly do city miles on it. A few hard stops when the weather gets warmer should get rid of it.

Pretty often, especially doing the winter months, some debris of salt and sand get in the brakes between the rotor and the heat metal plate --because of it the breaks squeaks at low speeds.

My GT3 squeals like a pig too, but only at low speed, light pedal. It's pretty annoying for a DD and I got a lot of unwanted attention at the traffic light. It's a fingerprint of Porsche from what I read.

In other cars that I used to have, putting some anti-squeal paste at the back of the pads eliminated the problem. Not sure if that'll work for the Porsche though because I haven't gotten around to it. If someone have tried that on a Porsche, would like to know if that helped.
