Love it or leave it? Black wheels with polished lips seem to be everywhere. I used to love the look, but I see it everywhere. Looking for something for my basalt black 997TT. What do you guys think?

 

Not my thing personally. But I also think the old M Coupe was awesome so dont listen to me!

 

Black wheels never did it for me.

 

Black wheels with a lip is so 2005. Go with the timless look - any kind of racing wheel and let the poseurs worry about what's hip

Just my 0.02, the whole lip is a little TOOOO much, but the lip black and the outheredge in white would look very nice (like the Rinspeed LeMans)

Looks good if you do it wright. Almost every wheel made
has been played out. Color matched,Chrome,Silver, Black, Polished. ECT...

 

i dont think its ever played out its just how its done really... because some cars are horrible but the select few that get the right stance, fitment and have a quality wheel it looks awesome

 

I think black on black has always looked ugly, not enough contrast. Black wheels on a bright color like yellow is hotness to me

 

it'll never be "played" out just as silver and gunmetal centers will never be played out.

it matches up well with some color combos just like the others wtf

 

I love your car!!! I think it looks ill. IMO, i like black wheels on certain color cars. Black on black, white on black, red on black.

Black/polished rims still look good but I think they have become too common. I need to see an insane set to get excited at all.

 

i think most of the modular sets becuase they pay more attention to detail, design, engineering look sweet when they are in another color than chrom or polish. But i agree if its just some whatever not as quality set then it looks cheap

 

spend a day in LA u'll know what's the latest trend. personally i'm sick & tired for black wheel. the color lip is coming back mostly with black center.
