Sold Gallardo for a Carrera S

After selling my 06 Gallardo a month ago, I picked up a new meteor grey Carrera S yesterday. The dealer had a car on its way with most of the spec I wanted so I grabbed it. I've done only 240km so far but I'm loving it. The handling, the steering, the perfect weight of the controls...

My daily car is an M5 but I plan to try the Porsche in this role to see how I go. I'll miss the auto on headlights and auto wipers on the BMW but that is about it as far as I can tell.

Here's some quick "proof of purchase" pics.

Nice, glad you like it! How does it compare to the G?
I thought the normal "switch" was Porsche -> Lambo and not vise versa? :O

G is louder and ultimately faster but the 911 is smoother and much more tactile. I'd had 2 Gallardos and done a total of 60,000km so I was ready for a change. The 911 falls half way between the Lambo and the BMW in overall purpose but is nicer to drive than either. The Gallardo was a huge attention-getter but I'm enjoying the anonymity of the Porsche.

I've got an order in for a 430 Scuderia but I'm thinking the Porsche might be enough for me.

If you're referring to the Daytime Running Lights, they can be set to turn on when you start the car. Take a look a the manual as I can't remember the exact way to do it.

Congradultions, I hope you enjoy it in good health.

It would look even better if you painted the stock centres in meteor grey for individuality.

I wanted a rear wheel drive car (for steering feel) and a back seat (for young kids occasionally). I also prefer the classic unadorned look of the Carrera.

Yes, that's me on FerrariChat.

My BMW and Benz have headlights that come on in low light automatically - at dusk and in car parks etc and turn off in normal ambient light. Is this an option on Porsches?

Also, can rain sensing wipers be retro-fitted by the dealer?

I commend you on your new acquisition!! Most people will probably think you are quite mad and going in the wrong direction. I have been in almost every other supercar and sports car on the planet, and aside from pure power, I prefer the ride and refinements of the Porsche, as well as like you stated above the classic look and nature of the Carreras

Yeah I an used to the auto lights also and it sucks that Porsche does not have that. I will see how the Carrera S holds up over the next two years, otherwise I may go back to the route of BMW and get an e92 M3.
