Saw the facelifted 997 today

Several P-cars with German plates were going the opposite way on the highway today, probably en route to Arctic testing. 7 turbos and a bunch of 997c2 cabs. As far as I could see, the new rear lights have a new design and are now LED based, kind of like the lamps on the A6 Avant.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to snap any pics, but the facelifte seems to be a minor cosmetic one without major changes.

So based on what you saw it looks like that changes aren't really a facelift.

just like the cayenne. only a purist can tell the difference, the rest just look at the badge to identify. as far as i know my wife can't tell the difference between a 911 conv. and a boxster. :-(

the difference between a 996 tt and a boxster

The above reply reminded me of a story of when I had my cobalt blue 2002 996tt. I had a blind date with a beautiful young lady that a coworker set me up with one evening. I was 32 at the time and she was 24 so I was pretty excited. As we are driving away from her house, she proceeds to tell me how her father has a boxster just like my car except it black. She was never seen again.

Did you steal her away permanently for yourself or did she present a problem due to her comments about her father's car?

Aren't they the same????

Still with all the hype, there is no definitive info on the mechanical changes, just theories.

Sorry, didn't exactly have time to take pictures or turn around to chase them down. I have a feeling that a pack of 13 or so P-cars would be a bit superior to the Audi I was driving.
It looks like minor cosmetic changes, but then again, if these changes were only cosmetic, why would they take these cars to winter tests?
It might be test mules for the 998 or they may contain the PDK or perhaps another x50 or x51?

As always in the automotive world, only time will tell. Oh and I'll try to take pics next time. Last time I saw test cars, I spotted an early version of the SLR, the R-class in testing and a bunch of other cars. That time I did take pictures albeit, in the dark.
