Silver/White gauge swap out BIG $$$ cost......any suggestions?

My car came with black gauges and just got a price quote on a set of white from the dealer... Guess they only do it as swapping out the entire cluster. $2,000.00 for the Cluster alone plus install ...... I was hoping it would have been less but guess I was off..... then I could maybe sell my cluster off and recoup some costs etc... other options I would love to hear about. Thanks

thought maybe find a wrecked 997 and buy used cluster if I could find? (some risk there though)

Anyone want to swap, will give you my gauge cluster plus $500?...a long shot I know!

why bother? I have silver gauge and sometimes I think black is better looking...
Better spend your money else where.

+1. The black gauges are much better looking.

If you still insist doing white, check this. Your dealer is too expensive.

I know

The black is OK IMO but just always loved the silver for some reason....but just how much is it worth to me is the question I need to figure out as this does not seem like an easy swap...

great thanks but still $$$

900+ just for the flimsy covers is a lot, the 300 install less concerned with, then the labor to take it out and reinstall I bet I am still near the 1500++ range but a heck of a lot better then going the other path so thanks so much for the tip... going to consider it... thanks again

The takeout and reinstall is a easy DIY so your cost should be considerable less than 1500.

1. Does anyone have the OEM Yellow Instrument Cluster for a 2012 997.2 Turbo S? 2. Also curious if anyone knows if the OEM Yellow Chrono for the 991, which displays the Time of Day digitally, may be interchanged with the 997.2 Chrono.
3. MY 2012 for the 997.2 Chrono only 'lights up' [and uses the digital display] if the Chrono function is activated. I've noticed that the Chrono for the 991 [and MY after 2012] always displays the Time of Day digitally regardless of whether the Chrono is activated. Thanks.

Thanks.

Keep your black background gauges if you can. The white are very difficult to read at night (perfect during the day).

I would not swap them.

Thanks for the response, but I have Silver Gauges, and I was looking to replace them with the Yellow Gauges.

BTW: I have noticed that the Silver Gauges turn to a Black Background at Night when the Headlights are on ......... Again, my vehicle is a 2012 997.2 - Don't know if this feature is available on prior MY vehicles.
