hey all- got stuck in about 2 inches of snow last night, not cool at all! the 4s may have been better but the 2s was all over, did some praying and some skilled driving, got home, put her away and thanked god!
P.S. check tomorrows weather report before heading out in the AM
P.S. snow tires anyone?

I had a great day. 3-4 inches of fresh snow! My C2S has 18" snows. Had a ball! Passed SUVs with all-season tires who were all over the road. This car as great traction! You have such control. It's a blast to punch the throttle and get the rear to slide. I believe it is not necessary to have all-wheel drive when the engine is in the rear. Tires are the most important factor. With my car, it is ground clearance which limits my ability to use my car in deep snow. Its a great daily driver.
I love winter Pcar driving, but will never be caught below 40' in the wet on summer Z rubber.

I'm assuming if you got stuck in 2" of snow in anything (much less in a car that has the engine sitting over the drive wheels), that you don't have snows mounted. BAD IDEA. Your troubles are 5% vehicle 95% tires. Don't drive in the cold with summer tires (much less in the snow). It is dangerous (and not just because of slipping). Don't believe me....next time it snows look at the fools in BMW, Audi, and Infinity AWD cars with a sport package and summer tires. They are going no where.
PS I have a C4 with Michelin PS Alpins. Better in snow than a sled. But with summer rubber it would be useless.

It's been cold and snowy here in Chicago. I have a dd but have been using my c2s during the snows and it works great. I have a set of 19" snow tires on and it slips less than my dd and even my suv. What is more of a concern are the idiots who can't drive in the snow and are coming up behind you. Buy some winter tires and you'll be set. I can't bear to leave my car in the garage for more than a day or two.

Can't agree more. I live in Pittsburgh where potholes are everywhere. I save my 19's for the summer, and went to 18's for winter, giving me more sidewall for protection from road hazards. When my car was in the shop for routine maintenance, they gave me a Cayenne to drive. My Carrera S with snow tires gets better traction than a Cayenne!!
