Sat Radio for 997- Porsche XM or NAV-TV Sirius?

I prefer Sirius, but don't want to screw around with a non-oem part that isn't fully functional. Anyone do the NAV-TV Sirius install? Any issues with install or functionality?

definitely looking at the NAV-TV Sirius unit also and would appreciate any feedback …just having issues justifying the price @ $899 (hoping a retailer sees some value in running a group buy for this unit soon)

Nav TV sirius is fantastic...get it. It had a few glitches early on that were fixed right away and now it's flawless.

Thanks raclaims... good to hear. What should I expect to pay for install? $500ish? Dealer or audio shop?

i had nav tv sirius sat installed in october. i don't drive the 997 very much. but it only works about half of the time. the nav-tv web site has a blog site that indicates that my unit may be defective. may have to send it in for exchange. when it works, it's great.

We've installed (4) of the Nav-TV units as well as their Bluetooth units. No problems whatsoever. Great service also. Installation is pretty much straight forward and available on their website.

i just did the tooki install myself yesterday, it couldn't be any easier and I am, so far, happy with it ...with the exception of mounting the antenna (under the cowl?), would you rate the Sirius install as straight forward as the tooki?

thanks

I can't be any more clear on this next statement...I have factory sirius in my lexus and MB and neither one is as good as the nav-tv set up in Porsche...GET IT. I love it.

could you give me instructions on how to install (or uninstall) the sat nav-tv? i already have it installed. but i'm not too happy with the installer. he wasn't too familiar with the nav-tv and doesn't seem to be too enthusiastic about helping me resolve the problems with it. i may want to remove it myself to send back to nav-tv for exchange.

Which unit do you have? It should been mounted in the center console stack behind the radio/nav. You would have to remove the side covers that are carpeted and then just disconnect the unit. You're welcome to call me and I will guide you step by step if you wish.
