The X-51 intake is the most efficient solution available for the 997S. It is very well designed, breathes well and looks amazing. Any aftermarket intake would be a downgrade in both performance and appearance. Keep what you have and enjoy!

Best quick mod for an X-51 would be sport cats and straight-through mufflers.

I'm happy with the motor and airbox, so I'm not thinking to change the actual intake. What I want to change the rubber house between plenum and airbox. Fabspeed and EVO make red silicone house for regular air box. the house is not smooth inside, so If I can get that, it will make little more power and better throttle response. Dose anybody know where can I get?

Do a search on Silicone hoses. You may be able to find someone who will custom make one for you. If you do please share it here.

I searched to find a hose to use an adapter for the X-51 airbox to the Stock Throttle body and found it at BoostContoller.com.

Another thought would be to talk to Greg at RSS about having your Throttle Body machined for better aerodynamics. They do this for the Stock 3.8 motor.

Look at the last post (#26) here. Is this what you need?

Right Idea. Wrong size. The x-51 intake is bigger in diameter and the hose would be shaped different.

I'll try again. Any of you with problems with uneven idle and CEL after the X51 airbox install? I also got the RSS Plenum, Suncoast headers and FVD sport mufflers with stock cats.

I will try with a new MAF next week. I hope maybe this can help.

Why do you think the hose is going to give you more power and better throttle response?? The X51 box is engineered pretty good already.

http://www.boostcontroller.com/

ASCSH2-325BK 1 Sil. Str. Hose 2"L 3.25 ID Black

This the hose I used to create an adapter for fitting the X-51 air tube to the the stock Throttle body. This is not a replacement for the X-51 tube.

It seems everyone who adds the x-51 airbox is hunting around for hoses to make it connect to the standard throttle body. Cut here, make do there, glue wherever... .

I was wondering why nobody has also bought the larger X-51 throttle body together with the airbox / hose / oil filler tube. You would make more power and the proper X-51 hose would fit.

Ian,

The X-51 TB alone will not work you need to change all the intake plumbing from the heads up.

David

PS - No glue with the Boost Controller piece just cut to length about 13-14MM.
