Recent Track Day Video

I had my first track day of the year on March 23, 2008. This video was taken from my first session of the day, had camera problems after this session (operator problems is more like it).

It was one of those days where you try a bunch of different things, and mostly just try and keep your car in one piece. I had a number of times were I had lost grip (a few you can see on the video). Many cars had spun out and some went off the track. Enjoy the video.

Great to see someone driving their car in "Native Mode"

I have not had my 997S on the track yet, counting the miles and days before I get there!

Well done, I avoid track days in the rain.

This was the first one that I have done in the rain (only the third one I have done) and it was difficult, but by the end of the day I think that I learned a lot. To go faster you needed to have your lines right, if you didn't you got in trouble really quickly.

Nice work

Nice work - that track looked pretty tight, and slippery!

Mission looks pretty unforgiving. Kind of scary in the wet... I try and avoid track days in the rain which is hard to do in Seattle (and Vancouver!)

The crown of the Track tries to pull you towards the wall at the end of the straightaway, the slippery weather really made speed difficult. I didn't go much higher then 165 kph (100 mph) down the front straightaway. I have my next day on April 28th and then May 5th (at the same track). I will be at PIR in Kent on Sept 8, looking forward to that track.

I don't mind the rain, the cold temperature (about 42F) made it impossible for the tires to heat up, therefore no grip. I would love to do a rain day again, and in this area I am sure it will be sooner then later!

Nice, Ed. Where did you mount your camera?
I was at the track in West Virginia last week and we actually had some snow, in addition to rain. Everyone with slicks went home, but I kept going with my street tires - just took it easy. The snow wasn't sticking.

I had a custom mount built by a local machine shop, made it out of Aluminum, and they sent it out for anodizing, looks very cool. Ties into the rear seat post mounting holes.

There was a lot of call for snow that day, but it stayed away. I was running Yokohama Advan 048R's and I got schooled by a Targa 4S with PS2's. Much better setup for this weather.

I love the sound of the car, it is louder with the PSE on.
