Hood Slightly bent

I just purchased a 2005 Carrera S at a dealer as a CPO and while detailing it today for the first time, I noticed the hood is ever so slightly bent on both sides, it's as if someone pressed to shut it with their hands spread wide to the sides of the hood.

To better explain, if you're standing right in front of the car, it seems that the hood is right on in the center where it hooks, and slopes down very little on either side.

I guess my question is, is there anything that can be done, has anyone had this issue? can a body shop repair this or is a new hood required?

I'd be tempted to return to the dealer and ask if they will have it fixed for you.

I've thought about it, the dealer is 2 1/2 hrs away thought. Is the Aluminum hood easily bent?

Aluminum is pretty soft and easier to bend than Steel. It also has less elasticity.

It can be repaired . The dealership ought to be informed . It might even be a job for dent wizard . Too bad you aren't in the South Florida because there is a guy in my are who can even fix a dent which wasn't fixed right by someone else. He has fixed all of my dents for over ten years.

I'll try to post a pic to better describe the issue, i guess you could say, the hood "slopes" down very slightly on either side when you're looking at it straight on.

If there's no paint damage Chris this guy could probably fix it . A skilled Dent Wizard in yoyr area might also be able to do it.

There are supposed to be 2 little rubber bumpers underneath that should keep it level; are yours missing? Just a thought.

While on this topic, what does everyone feel is the right way to close & latch the hood so it does not get damaged?

Pressure on the edges of the hood, or pressure right above the latch in the center of the hood?

Sounds like a dent repair facility can fix yours & maybe the dealer should take care of it for you.

When I took delivery of mine, the dealer made a special point of
instructing me on how to close the hood properly .

1. Lower the hood .
Place palm of hands ~ 6 " each side of the center emblem
and GENTLY push down until it clicks closed .

2. NEVER close it by pushing down at the emblem only.

At some angles I can see there is a slight dent just right beside both side of the hood actually I should say its the top part of the bumper. Are we talking about the same part?? If we are I think its normal.
