Small rock chips
I have about a dozen small rock chips on the hood of my C2S Cab. They are about the size of a pencil point (not sharpened). Has anyone used Dr. Color Chip or any other touch up product? Or should I just not bother with them.
Having tried the paint pen unsuccessfully on my M3, I will wait it out on the Porsche and, if need be, have a detailer touch it up or repaint in the far, far future. You might try to think of it as normal wear and tear.
Can't complain, it's a GT3

Have you modded anything else since the last time Fern and I were there?

I have used the Langka product and seen a demo of Dr. Color Chip. Both will "hide" the chips somewhat but it is very difficult to fill in and level off the chips. That is, you can still see the edges of the chips but without the blob.. This is my observation. That being said, I still like the "improvement" that I got with the Langka kit.
Dr Paint Chip works just fine. It's not perfect but it does a good job hiding chips until you decide to paint the front end. In fact there was Dr Paint Chip demo today at the Porsche Concours held in Huntington Beach.
Everyone figures it is scratched where the edge is !!
Good from far and far from good !
I guess it all depends what your personal preference is.Rock chips or distorted paint !
I will be ripping mine off this winter, only because I have a great paint shop.
I tried the Langka, but it doesn't seem to work that well with the Porsche touch-up paint. The blob remover doesn't seem to dissolve the touch-up paint even after an hour or so. I think if you're going to get clear bra installed, you're better off to get the hood and/or bumper repainted. From my experimentation, the clear bra will accentuate any imperfections....especially the raised edges around chips and the hollows of touch-up areas. I even used Langka followed by color sanding and buffing, but came to conclusion that repainting would be better (got quotes of around $500 each to do a hood and bumper).
Sorry about the thread-jack, but does anyone know of a (really good) chip repair service or detailer in the L.A. area? I've tried a couple of body shops, but they both wanted to re-spray the entire panel.
