Just finished a day at Limerock Racetrack!!

Dad and I just finished the Skip Barber High Performance Driving Class at Limerock - a full day of driving and instruction in a BMW 330, Mazda RX8 and Cayman and 997. Just awesome - went from 8 am until 6 pm and we're both just fried. Braking, skidpad, lane changing, autocross, track, awesome! If you ever have the chance to do a race driving class, I would highly recommend!

One highlight of the day was definitely racing the Caymans and 997s on the full Limerock track. Other than the straights, the Caymans are just about unbeatable - very very good handling. I'm thoroughly convinced the Boxster/Cayman platform has some unbeatable potential with the right amount of power.

Watching pro-drivers nearly bang fenders at high speed is a good chance to witness the speed and power that our cars possess, and the fact that we approach their limits so infrequently is unfortunate.

Another highlight of the day was the little autocross oval - at the end I had a chance to take my car for a several laps - definitely fun. My new X51 headers, AWE cats and PSE + intake + softronic come to life on this video.

Please click the link below to check out some fairly fast laps in my rig - mega mega fun. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...m_gW5NbAv-wnow

I did a 2 day Skip Barber at that track too, but we used vipers at the time. That little figure 8 course your on has the perfect size radius to drift your car all day long. Had a mustang GT at the time and I think my tires were bald when I got home from drifting the **** out of it.

Yes - Limerock has been repaved, and it is awesome - smooth as silk, and much faster with two new options - uphill chicane is different, and the turn after the uphill has been modified to include a chicane.

here is a link to the revised track map:

Great class. I did it a couple years ago. There was a PCA DE at Lime Rock the same day that I attended. If you liked the track, through PCA you do 4 20 minute sessions on track. It is a blast.
