Usually budget and Porsche are seldom used in the same sentence ;p.
If money is a factor, look for a CPO 2006 or 2007 and buy it outright with a low-interest loan plus some cash down. I'm not a big fan on leases, they are never as good of a deal. Buying an 08 is paying a premium for a discontinued body style. Better value with a low mileage 06 or 07.

Yikes !!! I am not sure you want to hear what i have to say but I will say this : don't lease a Porsche , especially a 08 before a refresh where residuals are always lowest .
You will hand them back that car in three years after spending nearly 40K plus tax and have nothing .
For another 20K you can buy a used car and own it (60k approx) and in three years it will still sell in the high 30's .
You cut the expense by 20K AND you own the car.

Updates to the 997 come out in 2009 (arriving towards end of 2008), new updated engine, new PDK transmission replaces the tiptronic, some changes in front / rear styling, and a lot of other goodies. Go to Porsche's main website to learn more. If you want to get into a 997 Porsche, look at low-mileage 2005-2007 pre-owned cars and buy one outright. 2005-2008 are all the same car, so why buy or lease the most expensive one (2008) and take the big hit on value loss? Now is a great time to find good deals, take your time and shop around on Autotrader.com and Cars.com
As an example, I just picked up a 2006 C2 cabriolet with 14k miles on it, one owner, and still 2 years of warranty left. $57k. Car is mint / showroom new.
Any diff between 2006 and 2008? not really..

Mid to high 60's depending on mileage / CPO. Under 10k miles demands the higher prices. Good price break point is on a car with about 15k.
Circle Porsche in Long Beach had a sweet Atlas Gray 06 S cab, CPO, 20k miles for $74 asking and I know they were looking to take upper 60's. A private dealer in LA had an 06 Seal Gray s cab for $65 asking, 1 owner and 22k miles.
Now, looking at non-S cab, closer to low / mid 60's depending on mileage. I scored mine w/ 14k miles 1 owner for $57k, but that was an exceptional find.

My sell price was $79,750. MSRP - $90,750
You got a great deal. That went under invoice for sure as my price was $66usd above invoice.
Drive off - $1800
Monthly - $1300
36 months / 12k miles
The whole purpose of lease is that you can write if off against your 1099E income or, if you own a business or are an officer of the business (must be listed officially), the business can lease it and you can second the lease. In both cases, you can write off the lease, effectively paying >40% less (tax offset) in a 1099 scenario and ~20% less (tax offset) in a business scenario.
Imho, for business owners or 1099 salespeople, lease is the only way to go.
