I am helping a friend looking at this car. Dealer 89k options are 19carrera sport wheel, aero kit, floor mats interior color, heated seats , instrument dials white, leather sport seats, manual trans, rear cnter console in exterior color, red tailights, seat backs painted exterior color, sport shifter, stainless steel exhaust tips, standard rocker panels painted. The car has about 100miles and is CPO. What is a good price? Any advise input replied. Thanks ahead.

That looks REALLY nice!
I want those seats on my next 911.
Post more/larger pics!
Now that the '09s have arrived, he can get at least 10% below MSRP on a NEW '08....
He can use that percentage as a STARTING point.

Do u think that price is low??? I cant help but think this thing was 100-105k new
That car must have been at least 105-110 new.
Find out what sticker was ... if 89K is not at least 10% off then try to go lower..
ALSO FIND OUT IF THIS WAS A DEMO OR A TRADE IN.....
if it was a trade in, then try to get 15%+ off
BUT for that car, I think $82-85 would be a steal.

I concur with Mobonic's post.
Remember, stuff is just not selling like it used to a couple months ago.
Not even the Euro buyers are as plentiful. It's mid-month and the dealer might want to just move it, I say go full-court press and see how low they will go. $82-$85 would be great.

I also agree, 85k is good, anything below that is VERY good. In this environment, name your price and let it sit with the dealer. Come Nov the pcar market might loosen up even more so waiting in these times is not a bad thing.
Hmm- Your friend might not have as much leverage on lowering the price now that the trade-in is on the table.
Typically, you want to negotiate the selling price first as a cash buyer. After that is out of the way drop the trade-in on the table. Starting out negotiations with a trade-in limits your power.
If they are firm on the $89 ask for more on the trade-in. It might be better to work out a lower price like $85 and take less for the trade, that way the sales tax will be less on the new purchase.
Let us know how it turns out-

I think $89k is too high. I bought an 08 new C4S for $90k ($104k MSRP) over labor day weekend. The mkt has deteriorated since then, not to mention that there are now 2009s whereas then there weren't. Since this is a used car, like there's already been another owner, so your friend would be the second title owner of this car, I'd push for at least 20% if not 25% below MSRP. I got almost 15% off as a first owner of a new car before 2009s were even in dealer lots. Obviously, some dealers are more distressed than other dealers, but this is a value buyers' mkt, not a sellers' one. That particular Porsche is an unusual purchase - as in not everyone is going for that look - I don't see what the risk of putting in an $80k bid is and letting the dealer mull that one over.
