Anyone have this problem with their windshield?

He all,

Just wondering if anyone is having a more than usual number of markings on their windshield. Im not referring to anything that can be cleaned off, but rather the stuff thats less than a chip but more than a mark, its like little nicks in the glass. From what i understand the glass is a bit softer than other automakers, but then should an excessive amount of nicks be warranteed?

I have many tiny "poc" marks on my windshield. I doubt any amount of windshield blemish would ever be resolved through warranty.

You need to start using painters tape to cover your windshield Ed

Great Idea, that way I will keep my windshield in great shape after I crash it.

BTW, the chip happened on the way home from the track....go figure.

johnstoy is infamous around these parts
DINOROCZ, if you have bigger chips do what Ed said and get them filled - it works well and helps keep them from spreading / spidering. If you are talking about having a lot of tiny nicks in the glass - lots of little spots you really notice when the sun is shining in from a low angle - I have found that using one of those products designed to make water roll off the glass (Rain Ex? I think) does a good job of hiding them. A lot of used car dealers use it to make the windshield look brand new... (until the buyer washers the car the first time anyway).

Those windshield crack repair shops can do wonders (and for CHEAP!). Definitely worth a visit to your local shop.

I have been told that the windshield glass is "soft" to prevent injury to a driver should he accidently exit the car that way. Hmmmm....

Not soft enough for me. I prefer not to exit the car this way.
